Depressing main card

UFC did Kai dirty imo. He should have be given a fight or 2 to get acclimated

Good prelims but disappointing main card overall, was hoping the opener would be more back and forth and the co-main certainly could of been better - 6/10 <DCrying>

Got any examples ? First time for me and I know my shit
Most famous recent example is Leavitt-Wiman
Tried to find a video that showed some older ones but it seems to have been killed by copyright, I have one in mind but it's from a no name fight

Very interesting I’ll look into yhis

Bryce said Kron felt like a human vice the entire time and when he did this, the lock was released completely

I was going to stay up all night to watch the entire card. Thank fuck I didn't and just watched the replay next day instead.

Couple of interesting fights, but I found that a lot of the fighters fought very carefully and calculated which doesn't make for the most action packed fights. The 2 Co-Main fights looked like hard sparring sessions.

Weidman having hail mary success in the 2nd round only to get wailed on in the most embarrassing way after jumping a guilly. Smmfh. 😦

I have nothing to complain about the main card outside of one of the biggest robberies I've seen in that Gane x Volkov fight and of course, Mitchell x Gracie being placed on the main card instead of Evloev x Sterling.

Pantoja kinda surprised me, I thought he would take the fight to another decision, but looked to be on really good shape and got the finish earlier.

About the co-main, I was expecting Shavkat to submit Garry in the earlier rounds, but Garry surprised me and fought really well, I don't think people should use this fight as a metric to say that Belal would easily beat both. Another thing to point is the short notice factor, which may have influenced on Shavkat's performance, he was preparing for Belal and then things changed, Belal got an injury and Shavkat had to face a very different opponent, of course we can argue that the short notice factor may negatively influence the performance of both fighters, but it really felt that Shavkat was caught off guard with how good Garry fought.

It wasn’t that bad. I think Pantoja saved it for me.

Gane knew he hurt himself and was disappointed with the outcome. He gave the optics disappointment like he lost.

Volkov wasn’t much better at all. Infact the second round the striking edge went to Gane. They each had a moment the spinning back fist and a big right hand from Gane. Gane also got a takedown that round hard to call it a robbery when it was so even.

Volkov however celebrated like he had the performance of a lifetime when in actuality he performed on par with Gane in rounds 1 and 2 and round 3 was a dud.

I feel like Gane is getting residual hate from his fight with JBJ. Either guy getting the nod doesn’t seem like a bad decision honestly. It was basically a contest to see who was the slightly better underperforming fighter.

The fight actually sucked the most not the result.

Agreed, but the result was still bad. Not major robbery bad but still clearly wrong. The judges scoring round two for Gane definitely missed something, but no particular incompetence or corruption is needed to explain the result when a bad angle or a blink at the wrong time will do.

People are generally too upset at the result to pay attention to the facts that it was a bad fight and that Volkov didn't do enough to try to finish a close fight.
