"We don't want to get away from his wrestling - we want to f*ck him up in his game."

"He doesn't present any problem to us"

😂😂 Imagine talking all this noise before the fight about how you want to wrestle Khamzat. That guy didn't have a clue out there.

Welp, this Morne Visser guy's MMA coaching career is over. I wouldn't trust that dude to mow my lawn without screwing it up TBH.

The problem is they knew Khamzat would shoot immediately, and Dricus himself could have shot immediately but didn't. If they were going to try to wrestle they should have done so.

To be fair DDP's grappling is pretty good. It is just like the British kickboxer guys vs top level American wrestlers thing a decade ago. I don't care what you do in your camp... you're likely not reaching a beyond elite Caucausus level in that training camp of yours while the other guy has done it his entire life.

Too late in the game for him now...better off trying to time a k ee at this point.

Nah, Middleweights are relevant until past their mid 30's. Dricus is 31. He could improve his TDD a lot in within 2 years and peak at 33 for all we know. Before this fight, he was looking better in each showing, so I have no reason to believe he won't improve. I'm not saying he'll improve enough to beat khamzat, but to act like a guy that mentally stubborn won't improve after his first loss in a decade seems silly to me. It's not like he's 37 years old. He still has good years left in him.

Going to train with Merab and Aljo would probably be good for him, though those guys might be too small to effectively put in work with him.

He has trained at tiger muy thai in the past briefly. The hickman bros there are some of the best at getting guys TDD up to par, and that place is also littered with wrestlers from the caucuses. Dricus should go back there and put in serious hours with them.

I also think he'd mesh very well with Craig jones and the Aussi boys (volk, and JDM).

The thing with Chimmy is that he didn't have that over the top wrestling access in his youth (like a Nurmagomedov family member or Islam). A lot of it is natural strength and explosiveness.

He remind me more of a Sean Brady type, who's naturally made for grappling.

DDP is the one that used to get hyped as having grappled heavy from childhood.

That was a really stupid gameplan in hindsight. I really thought Khamzat had been exposed after Burns, not as bad or anything like that, just not a god.

Guess he'll be around a while
