DWCS Dana's Contender Series 2025 thread

LLS should win, I do worry about his defence and chin a bit but Kaushik kinda sucks imo so I don't think he's the guy to take him out.
That's his biggest flaw.
I certainly expect progress to cover that issue.

Delano sleeps Exposito in the first and gets a contract. Delano is UFC ready.

Lee Scott missed weight by half a pound

Donte Johnson vs Darrion Abbey added to the week 3 (I guess at HW)
+ Trent Miller (MW from Xtreme Couture) replaces Vitor Costa on Week 3 at LHW

I had no idea Costa withdrew. What a shame. I was looking forward to watching him.

7-4 is fucking brutal for DWCS. Johnson is a LHW, @Hellowhosthat rates him as a solid prospect at 205lbs.

Pericic vs Ellison moved from next week to UFC Perth
Marwan Rahiki vs Ananias Mulumba on Week 10 at FW
Marwan Rahiki is fun to watch. He's a Moroccan kickboxer who fights in Australia and has a KO from leg kicks like Pat Barry 20 years ago

I guess we are just missing an opponent to Pergentino at HW, Luke Fernandez at LHW, and Zaynukov at LW

Week #3 Prospect to watch: Abdulrakhman Yakhyaev

PROS: Single shots, striking to wrestling, timing takedowns, low single/double, cage wrestling, outside trips, sweep game, 50/50 position, leg locks, methodological grappling, top control.
CONS: Predictable striking, bad striking defense, waste movements, weight distribution on the cage, weak gnp.

Lorenz has chance in the first round

Zaynukov is probably fighting Lucas Caldas who got added at the same time. Banger of a fight if that is the matchup.
Caldas vs Zaynukov would be a fun matchup between two MT specialists
In this case, they need a sub to Joksovic to face Michael Oliveira

The DWCS IG account follows all of the participants and then unfollows them if they don’t get a UFC contract offer from Dana. That’s some pettiness.

How does one even know this? lol

It was all over social media and I checked with one of the fighters and they followed him before his fight and then after the event, he was unfollowed.

EPISODE 3

MW - Gandra finishes Miller, and gets signed.
FW - Barbosa tears through Wilson in round 1, gets signed.
LHW - Yakhyaev manhandles Lorenz on the mat, 2nd round sub, gets signed.
LW - close fight, Sousa wins a close decision, gets signed.
HW - Johnson by KO, signed, drops to 205lbs.

5/5

Above welterweight, are the easiest less competitive weightclasses to get into the UFC.

The offer is low, and the demand high, a good manager for the example of a MW, LHW or HW debut, will not ask for 12 K/24 K but for 18K/36K.

If you are to ask as a good manager, you could get +4 to +8 K dollars being a fighter above WW.

Weigh-In Pics....

This Donte Johnson guy doesn't look big enough to be fighting at HW, size difference is massive.
