Media Dana White: Andrei Arlovski should consider retirement

Dana was asked a direct question. Is he supposed to just say no comment? I'm not a fan of Dana either but he's just answering a question that was asked of him. He didn't go out of his way to rip on AA.
"Poor Dana, how careful with the athletes he is". His questions are always predetermined, as we all know. Even so, he should say the same thing I said: that's Arlovski and his team problem. That's the right answer. Anything different than that is just business. At the end of the day, he needs to fulfill Arlovski's contract, offering him 3 fights per year and paying 350k per fight, and nothing more.

A little HGH and he would be fighting like a young buck again
He should go see Conor's guy

Arlovski is the real Sam Alvey, with out the significant smiles

I’d pay to see the reaction Dana and the team have every time they look at Arlovski’s payouts. That’s 300k that could have went towards the Nelk Boys’ birthdays every time.

Or he could recruit 300,000 Power Slap competitors

what the goof actually means is:

"i want him to "retire" while he still has fights on his contract, i dont want him "retiring" and fighting for a rival organisation"

Taking advantage of that juicy contract sir.
Can't really blame him.
CTE is a helluva drug. The damage he took gonna fuck him in the ass very soon. Wouldn't be surprised if he was 50 and still fighting. Some of these guys just can't let it go. Fuck money, would like to have a healthy life when I'm old and play with my grandkids lol.

Man think about how long the dude has been at it….the Sylvia title fights are what, maybe 18-22 years old? Something like that but it could potentially be longer than that. It is strange how fast time flies in this sport while Seasonal Sports just drag on for a couple months and the fans are already itching for a break.
Please someone win….oh wait Baseball innings potentially can go on indefinitely…like a GSP title defense.

Sure,but its also:

"If it was anyone else, you'd already be cut,but we will give you a retirement fight if you want it."

They also let Shogun hang around way past the point where he was having good fights. They gave him a retirement fight even though we all know he'd lose.

AA is my all time favorite fighter. Idk why, just always really liked him. Could be because back in his heyday he was a shredded HW but still looked fairly natural. The Leonidas look didn't hurt.

His physique has changed a lot the last few years, and his fights are getting harder to watch. Age is the one none of us can escape I guess.

I'm all for maximizing earnings, but I think it's time. Respect to whatever decision he makes, though.

I'd say the reality is that Arlovski's value to Dana is falling hence he'd prefer he retired rather than carry on with the contract.

Arlovski was really THE gatekeeper to the higher end of the HW division in the UFC over the last few years but the last two loses arguably were the worst run he's had since the last time he was fighting at the very top of the division in the mid 2010's.

I cant stand to watch AA anymore. His career is ultra long for a HW, Im more than satisfied.

Although I do agree, Andrei should for his health. But that being said if he convinced them to book him again i don't fault Andrei for taking another fight one bit at the rate he's been getting to just show and fight unranked guys.

Even though he's on a 2 fight skid, he also had a string of wins recently.

Even if he were 20 years old, that would be viewed as a couple hiccups and told to keep going.

And Andrei tends to win and lose in groups.

Tbh, I think Andrei has a lot of wiggle room. If he drops 3 more consecutive, then sure.

Right now?

He's on what's been a pretty standard Andrei plan, as far as performances go.

Lol @ everyone getting mad at Dana for asking a 44 yr old fighter who just got TKO'd out to consider retirement.
