Could Aspinall beat Gane?

10 years ago in his 4th pro fight. I see you've yet to cure your retardation. Rooting for ya!

Pro and amateur has zero relevance when you're talking about early MMA fights. Get real, he was in his 10th fight....the same amount of fights that Gane was already fighting for the UFC title.

Spoken like someone who's never seen some of what the ammies offers up. There's absolutely a distinction. I fought a guy in an ammy that was there to watch his buddy once. They literally pulled him out of the crowd because the guy I was supposed to fight didn't show up.

And you're dumber than I thought if you believe a decade of training and being a full time fighter wouldn't have someone massively improving. Instead of fights from 10 years ago, how about we look at the grappling of Aspinall vs Volkov and then Gane vs Volkov, genius.

FFS why would you constantly feel this need to look so stupid?

I think a locked in Gane that doesn't have his mind on filming paw patrol and playing Fifa gives Tom quite the fight on the feet. He would give Tom a lot to think about as he has a lot of strike variety and knows how to mix up his weapons very well. He also has good footwork and is quite elusive. I don't think it would be as easy for Tom to blitz in on Gane as it was when it came to everyone else he's fought. Unfortunately that's the only place where I could see Gane having a legitimate chance at beating Tom. On the ground Gane is an idiot and he most definitely is getting subbed if the fight goes to the ground after trying to go for one of his famous heel hook attempts.

This weird narrative that Tom's KO's come all from "blitzing people"...seems like nobody is watching his fights or at least not remembering them. Look at the last 2. Pavlovich was a short, crisp shot to the temple in the pocket after making Pavlovich miss. Blaydes was a counter right hand over the top. Both were examples of how Tom's hand speed is the stuff of nightmares for other HW's because they just aren't used to seeing it. But neither were a "blitz" at all.

Nah it's just called an objective apples vs apples comparison, Gane 10 fights in was fighting for the UFC belt while Tom was getting abused in regional shows. Nothing to discuss, that's the reality.

An irrelevant one to who each guy is NOW. Yet you focus on it because you're a disingenuous hack.

I wonder if you realize how easy you make it to clown you?

Yeah because Gane has actually fought the elite competition.

Honestly Tom is leaps and bounds better at BJJ and grappling .

But I think toms style vs Gane would lose I see Gane winning that fight and the fact it hasn't happened is kinda crazy Gane is what the 3rd best hw right now... Let him fight the n2 guy

Thats my point too about them fighting ont he feet is for a HW Tom’s boxing specifically his hand speed is second to none in that weight class. And he has power to boot. So while gane is no doubt a more technical striker, the hand speed from Tom would be a deciding factor in the striking. I think if gane wanted to just leg kick him to a decision while constantly being on his bike he might be able to do that, but the issue with that is after a bit I’m sure tom would change gears and just shoot the take down. And once that happens the fight is over. Gane got no chance on the ground.

My guess is that you're mostly right, but I'm not sure Tom would wait around to see how the striking played out. I think even in a pure kickboxing match that Tom's combination of speed+power would be too much for Gane even if he tried to point fight at distance. But grappling yeah is the path of least resistance for Aspinall.

Is Tom not fighting because he's scared to lose before the big money Jones fight?

Yeah I think we’re pretty much in agreement. I think if tom wanted to impress jones all he would need to do is when the ref says fight, shoot for the tdd immediately and sub game faster than jon did. And im pretty sure he would.

He isn’t fighting because he is the interm champion and that means he is supposed to be fighting the guy wearing the real belt. The problem is the guy with the real belt doesn’t want to fight him. So there is a simple solution for all involved it’s just up to the ufc to do what’s best.

Just power. But Sherdoggers will try to convince you he's a HW Khabib because he has a football tackle style takedown he mixes in sometimes against low level grapplers. Gane has subbed low level guys himself, he struggled only against Ngannou and Jones, the likes of which Aspinall has never experienced.

Stuart Austin literally manhandled him like a child in the wrestling aspect. Creepy fanboy Sherdoggers will try to deny reality and convince you that Aspinall was winning the whole fight until a miracle sub because he had a little flurry right before that, but if you actually watch the fight he got bullied.
So you are referring to his 4th fight a decade ago?
How about Gane losing to Volkov (despite the BS decision) and Tom starched him?

A less experienced Gane hardly broke a sweat beating the veteran Volkov the first time. The second time was only close due to an injury, it's clear as day.

Gane had to go to decision twice vs Volkov and was gifted one of them. Aspinall took Volkov down and subbed him within a couple minutes easily. These are facts you can't run from no matter how much you try.

Whatever. They will fight just as soon as the UFC strips Jon. Tom has repeatedly said he wants to fight for the "Undisputed" title next and it doesn't matter who it is. Who has Gane defeated to deserve another title shot? A win over Spivak and a loss to Volkov doesn't equate to a title fight IMO. This fight will happen soon I hope. Gane gets flustered when he can't finish and resorts to illegal back of the head strikes. He did it with Tai & JDS. I don't think he can do that against Tom. Gane needs an accumulation of shots and Tom needs 1.
