What's your opinion on the Air Bridge corruption undertaken by the Trump admin?

I provided two reports in post #6944, not far back, about it.

I ask, since nobody on the right wing side in here has tried to address such rampant corruption, like....at all.

youll need to link to it for me. I post on my phone and post #’s don’t show up and I have no idea what you’re referencing.

Trump supporters circle around the wagons. I notice the machine has cranked it upto 9. Especially since number of cases have increased to nearly a half a million and Florida becoming a hot zone of new cases.

Trump having frequent meetings and put on his best efforts to change the narrative he used during rallies. It's becoming an interesting time as many states are improving but mostly through tightening quarantine.

Now new numbers are from states previously had fewer numbers now gaining speed. Places like Louisiana, Florida, Texas are seeing increased numbers of confirmed cases.

No doubt raising a red light by the Trump machine.

No prob.

Trump Administration Uses Wartime Powers To Be First In Line On Medical Supplies

Trump Told Governors to Buy Own Virus Supplies, Then Outbid Them

First link seems to hint at possible unintended consequences of instituting the DPA. Meant to put the feds in front of other countries, but may have unintended consequence of also putting them ahead of states looking for supplies.

Says at the bottom, “If you think there is bidding between federal government and state, let us know and we’ll drop out immediately,” Trump said. “There are 151 countries that have this problem, and they’re ordering, too. It’s really a mess.”

Which seems to be Trump saying if that is the case the states should let him know and the feds will let the states at it but it’s a complex problem.

Second link is the same issue and doesn’t seem to be adding much.

Fed and state competing buying the same supplies, but says “At Trump’s request, Vice President Mike Pence responded that “we want to facilitate all the states and the health care providers in your states to be able to access that supply chain as it becomes more robust.”

When New Mexico’s governor raised similar concerns later in the call, Trump said he would ask FEMA to ensure there were no conflicts with purchases in the future.”

So again, sounds like unintended consequences of an unusual circumstance that Trump is saying they’ll try to clear up.

maybe I’m misreading or missing something but I don’t see the huge fuss. Could argue they should’ve foreseen the problem I guess but grand scheme it just seems like a logistical kink that they are trying to work out.

The governors affected have been very clear that they have been outbid by the federal government for medical supplies.

Do you really not have a problem with the military using taxpayer funds to buy medical supplies, only to hand them over to private corporations in order for them to price gouge the states, bidding them against eachother, the Fed and other nations?

""Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker told Trump during a video conference on Thursday that his state three times lost out to the federal government on purchases of critical supplies, creating an awkward moment during the made-for-TV event at Federal Emergency Management Agency headquarters in Washington.

“I’ve got a feeling that if someone has the chance to sell to you and to sell to me, I am going to lose on every one of those,” a sheepish-sounding Baker told Trump, who chuckled at the remark.

The president replied he still wants governors to seek out their own medical equipment, like protective gear for doctors and nurses as well as respirators, but acknowledged the federal government has greater buying power than any state.

“Prices are always a component of that also. And maybe that’s why you lost to the feds, OK, that’s probably why,” Trump said.
""

These aren't unintended consequences, they're examples of a deliberately corrupt means of fleecing taxpayers during a pandemic.

and after saying all that he said what I quoted.

i didn’t read anything in those articles you linked talking about the feds getting the supplies and then giving them to “private corporations” and then bidding on them again to drive up prices on states.

Here is one of the admirals saying it straight up. The supplies he's talking about have already been paid for by the taxpayer, and he's lying about this being normal. Furthermore, his assertion that private corporations have the infrastructure we need, not the military, is absurd.

The mere fact that they can't even give numbers about how much they're giving to corporations should make any American question them.

Driving home from work now, be a couple few hours before i get back and I’ll check it out

It's quite disturbing, and the WH refuses to even provide numbers on how much of their sourced overseas supplies are going to private corporations. This is while governors are racing to random parking lots to greet medical supply reps with fat checks in order to source materials the taxpayers already paid for.

Cause that New York Times thread/story died a quick death once it was revealed that trump just had a mutual fund which gave him like a $1,000 stake in a French pharma company that makes a generic non-patent version of Chloroquine called Plaquenil.

it was basically it though for a good minute.
Oh Jesus. Shit like that is so unproductive.

While Trump moves to reopen the country too early, here's another example of his admin's corruption:

https://www.commondreams.org/news/2...company-exclusive-claim-promising-coronavirus
'This Is a Massive Scandal': Trump FDA Grants Drug Company Exclusive Claim on Promising Coronavirus Drug

"As healthcare providers across the U.S. desperately attempt to treat a rapidly growing number of patients with the coronavirus, a pharmaceutical company with ties to the Trump administration has been granted exclusive status for a drug it is developing to treat the illness—a potential windfall for the company that could put the medication out of reach for many Americans.

As The Intercept reported Monday, the Food and Drug Administration granted Gilead Sciences "orphan" drug status for remdesivir, one of several drugs being tested as potential treatments for the coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19. The designation is generally reserved for drugs that treat rare illnesses affecting fewer than 200,000 Americans—but companies can be eligible if the designation, as in this case of a rapidly spreading virus, is made before a disease spreads beyond that limit."

It only took a couple weeks after the meeting with the CEO of Gilead Pharmaceuticals for them to get their sweetheart deal from Trump.

What is the corruption? That just sounds like some minor chain supply confusions that are going inevitably happen when hundreds of millions of dollars goods are being purchased around the country.

Taxpayers pay for medical supplies that are sourced by the military, who then gives them to private corporations in order to auction these supplies off to the highest bidder, which includes the states, the fed and foreign nations.

Yeah, I just can't spot the corruption here. Where is it?

>major scandal

Lol no. Gilead applied for ophan status in early march when there were still very few cases. Now that its a full blown epidemic they reascended its oprhan status. Is your whole schitck just finding random fake news article from far-left blogs and posting them here, demanding someone debunk them?

Just last week every reporter in the conference room was screaming at Trump for not using the Defense Production Act. Now he invokes and everyone screams about that. Can you just pick a stance and stick with it?

He invoked it on GM, and hasn't done anything except that regarding the DPA. Toothless bullshit as always from these people.

Care to address what I was actually talking about?
