Opinion Conservatism will always be a threat to democracy

I think SE is a good guy at heart but yeah Mr Holmes is a retard and a liar. Dude still believes in the Haitians eating cats and dogs story, what more do you need to know to realize he's a moron?
Tough talk from the degenerate that liked what Hamas did on 10/7.

Is he right? Do you still actually believe the story about Haitians eating people's pets?
I've already made my position clear but don't let that stop you guys from forming a circle jerk to misrepresent it and tell me I'm embarrassing myself

So then wouldn't we be better off reverting to Senators being appointed by the president rather than being elected by popular vote? It helps make sure the majority don't fuck over the rest right?

The house is by population the senate is not.

Yeah... Republicans are a "threat to Democracy".

The Democrats are a bunch of Authoritarian Marxist assholes anymore.

But the Senate used to be appointed by the president, that's how the Founding Father's intended it. Do you think we shoudl revert to Senators being appointed to prevent majoritarian rule?

Aside from the fact that the EC doesn't actually do much for rural voters as such, the argument would benefit from clarity. People are arguing that rural voters should have power out of proportion to their numbers, for reasons that are unexplained. Explaining it would do a lot for these discussions.

Honestly it's best to not feed the trolls. He's just looking for attention any way he can get it.
And "the trolls" are not people who just post empty attacks on anyone who disagrees with GOP talking points, but people who actually make thoughtful posts and aren't just vectors for propaganda.

They already have it in the Senate and since the early 20th century the House of Representatives has been "Senatized" in that it also disproportionately benefits rural voters due to the cap.

The Senate at least was deliberately designed to benefit not rural voters but voters in small states (not because anyone thought that was inherently good as much as that small states wouldn't want to join the union otherwise). But the presidency and the House were supposed to be democratic.

You don't know what democracy is.

Some of what is being taught in schools is pretty unpopular. About 2/3 of parents are against gender ideology and critical race theory being taught to K-12 students. But, if they say anything about it publicly, the frothing at the mouth leftists (including the media) try to make examples out of them. Getting rid of those things from grade school is consistent with democracy. School curriculums have been determined by academics from Universities and school boards without input from parents or the general public.

lol

If the war room is any indication, then I'd water that the majority of those parents don't even have a clue what those two things are... especially CRT lol.

The war room isn't any indication of anything. People who post a lot on political forums tend to be unhappy and have personality disorders. It was better during covid when more normal people weren't working and were more interested in politics than normal. This sub-forum is very low quality rage spam for the most part.

Think about this way...

These types of forums are people who actually closely follow politics though. Most people in real life aren't like that.

Whoever was selected in the sample for that polling are most likely just regular ass people. Regular ass people aren't getting online and searching the ins and outs of CRT or gender ideology.

There's a really good chance that the vast majority of those responding to the poll don't even have a superficial understanding of CRT or Gender ideology, nor do they actually understand what their kids are actually taught in school lol. There's also a good chunk of those respondents that are watching nothing but Faux News and getting outraged over the shit they lie about on a daily basis.

How does that prevent majority rule. The way its done now prevents that.

The Constitution is a "living" document and can be changed.

Following the process and you can make anything possible .

That doesn't mean it's going to destroy the country just that it's possible for the people to be convinced to destroy it.

Those terms weren't used in the survey questions. They asked specific questions; for example, whether you want your kids learning that someone can be a girl even if they aren't biologically one. Pew research (and others) did a survey and found that only 31% of parents of K-12 students wanted that. Even 51% of Democrat parents were against it.

I can't remember the exact phrasing of the CRT-related questions since they were cited in an interview of Eric Kaufmann, but they were related to white people being guilty of systemic racism.
