Opinion Conservatism will always be a threat to democracy

Those terms weren't used in the survey questions. They asked specific questions; for example, whether you want your kids learning that someone can be a girl even if they aren't biologically one. Pew research (and others) did a survey and found that only 31% of parents of K-12 students wanted that. Even 51% of Democrat parents were against it.

I can't remember the exact phrasing of the CRT-related questions since they were cited in an interview of Eric Kaufmann, but they were related to white people being guilty of systemic racism.

Yea, I'd definitely have to see the questions on a survey like that to believe the results. There are just a lot of things that can skew results.

How does that prevent majority rule. The way its done now prevents that.

The Constitution is a "living" document and can be changed.

Following the process and you can make anything possible .

That doesn't mean it's going to destroy the country just that it's possible for the people to be convinced to destroy it.
I guess my point is that I think you're being a little dramatic about how impactful abolishing the electoral college would be when we've had similar serious reforms to the constitutional order. The current republic is basically unrecognizable when compared to what the Founding Fathers had ironed out by the end of the 18th century. That's not to say that abolishing the electoral college is necessarily good or bad. Personally I would happy with reforming it so all states award their electors proportionately rather than on a winner takes all basis because it kills voter enthusiasm from the opposition party in states that lean heavily one way or the other. That and uncapping the House of Representatives of course but that's a whole other conversation.

The war room isn't any indication of anything. People who post a lot on political forums tend to be unhappy and have personality disorders. It was better during covid when more normal people weren't working and were more interested in politics than normal. This sub-forum is very low quality rage spam for the most part.
War room is full of crazies on both sides liking each other's posts. Left seems to outnumber right but then I haven’t been here very long.

I understand your point but I think that change would push the country over the edge.

The same if they decided to make the Senate population based.

The Conservative movement Has a long history of fighting

against:

Ending slavery
The civil rights movement
women's suffrage
Gay rights (all of you neo-cons who now say “I don’t care what you do in the bedroom just keep it away from me and mine would be shunned up until recent history. If you think gay people can be in the military, you’re a progressive by the 90s standard)
Rock’n’roll music
Rap music
Birth control/family planning
Legalization of marijuana
The new deal
Unions
Joining ww2
Jon Burch society
Equal rights amendment

And for;
war for Iraq and Afghanistan,
eugenics,
McCarthyism,
segregation,
Vietnam war
Theocracy

Im sure there is more but I’ve got to get to work.
I was wondering when someone was going to bring this up.

Being against democracy is in the conservative DNA. These are the people that were fawning over monarchy and against self-rule in the 1700s. They just don't like everyone in society having an equal say.

Here's Edmund Burke, one of the leading conservative thinkers in history, lamenting the end of feudalism:

When the old feudal and chivalrous spirit of fealty, which, by freeing kings from fear, freed both kings and subjects from the precautions of tyranny, shall be extinct in the minds of men, plots and assassinations will be anticipated by preventive murder and preventive confiscation, and that long roll of grim and bloody maxims which form the political code of all power not standing on its own honor and the honor of those who are to obey it.

Absurd. Which states/cities implemented covid passports and which states outright banned them?
Your desperation to shift the goal posts is laughable as you now try to make this about a singular requirement while ignoring the rest and FACTS.

Did or did not Florida implement strict covid protocols pushed by Trump and his Admin?

Name the States that you think DID NOT implement the requested shutdowns?

Give me the States names you claim ignored Trump and his Admin?

Florida did their own thing regardless of Trump like all the other states. And when FL decided to open up earlier they got attacked by the media.

I knew you would never answer my last question because all you do is deflect and dodge when called out on your bullshit. You can run along now.

@Jack V Savage
That looks pretty bad. That was before Israel even started retaliating. Tough to look at it any other way but full blown support for terrorism. @Dizzy liking that post is no surprise obviously, but I’d like to see @Islam Imamate explain that one.
K1Grappler isn't II, and I'd guess that was a (tasteless) joke. But I'd be happy to see clarification. That's why I tagged.

So you are denying that Florida and other Red States were following the Trump Admin CDC guidance when they shut down?

Do you want to bet on that and if i cannot provide video of DeSantis saying that, then you win?

Sig bet for 6 months?

Trump's CDC guidance? You're joke. I'll tell the answer to the question. Blue states, counties instituted vaccine passports. Red states banned the practice.

So laughably desperate to try and change the topic.

Are you now running from your prior point that Red States DID NOT follow Trump and his Admin guidance and shut down their States?

If you want to back out, just say Uncle.

Just to recap how Mr Holmes is running scared now and trying to pretend he did not say what he said.

HEre is what i said...

Trump and his Administration pushing the shut downs and vaccines and masks down all States throats.
Here is Mr Holmes below saying 'no Trump did not push the shutdown, and vaccines and masks on the States...
Bullshit. The individual governors and mayors were left to make those decisions..

And when i quote DeSantis adn Trump showing EXACTLY that, he is now trying to desperately say 'ok ya the shutdowns, and the vaccines and masks may have come from Trump and his Admin and the Red States may have followed but WHATABOUT the passports. Trump did not push the passports so even though what you said was accurate and true, i will just stick with my goal post shift.

FLOLOLOL.

I've stayed on topic. You refuse address blue and red controlled area's enacted different policy. Which was your original argument.

If you want to back out, just say Uncle.

The TOPIC was MY POST you replied to you halfwit.

Trump and his Administration pushing the shut downs and vaccines and masks down all States throats.

You tried to claim the above ^^^ was not true.

Do you still maintain DeSantis and Red States DID NOT take their guidance from the Trump admin when they put in place their shut downs, and on vaccines and masks?

Do not try and change the topic to later stages of the pandemic and address the point YOU MADE. Do you maintain i was wrong and that DeSantis and Red States DID NOT get that guidance from the Trump Admin on shut downs, vaccines and masks.

Take the bet if you are sure they did not. I will take the burden of proof on to me. If i cannot PROVE DeSantis was following the Trump Admin advice and he does not say so directly, you win the bet.

Yeah you said more than that. You can't be honest about anything.
NO.

That was the full quote of what you called 'Bullshbit', so you are just lying now.

Anyone want to see Mr Holmes lie can see my entire post (51 here), which i quoted above and him calling that post "bullshit" in the next post.
