***Conor is setting up the biggest fight in UFC History***

? He is fighting Diaz because a) he is beatable, b) pretty much everyone else they asked said no. c) Cowboy who was the only other really viable option lost to Nate and RDA. d) Nate is entertaining enough to help sell the fight on super short notice.

Plus GSP would beat him badly for 5 rounds. If Conor wants to fight a guy with a similar style to GSP, he can fight Edgar or get his ass whooped by Rory.

This was the best possible option on short notice.

If Conor is smart he wouldn't want none of GSP.

I'll believe it when I see it.

There is just too much at risk for him and one big fight isn't going to yield him Mayweather money. A fight with GSP would have him on his back the whole fight. A fight with Lawler would risk massive brain damage. Nate Diaz is neither a powerful wrestler or power puncher.

I see where you are coming from, but GSP coming back wouldn't be bound by such mundane conventions as belts. They might as well just call the welterweight belt the GSP belt from now on.

I know..i guess thats what id rather see happen. Id rather see GSP fight the WW champ than a fight with Conor.

Goddamnit you just ruined the surprise for UFC 200!!!!

Fuck that! I'm staying retired

Far left might be a Mangalore...

I completely agree with you both, but he's got nothing to lose by losing to GSP at 170 and he'll make a boat load of $$$... probably the highest of any UFC fighter ever.

So you think one of the all time greatest fighters ever, and 170 pound GOAT is going to come out of retirement to take a legacy threatening fight with 2 years ring rust and 2 blown knees, and he is going to take a backseat in money to Conor McGregor?

Gsp ain't coming back to fight a natural lw. Not about the money for him. He's good for life obviously. Aside from that he would pummel Conor so badly.

It's ALWAYS about the money....That fight would be the biggest draw in UFC history, record breaking PPV sales, they'll put that shit in a stadium...it'll sell the fuck out. It's called "prize fighting" not "feel good about what I do because I'm a purist fighting"

Conor would be better off fighting Robbie first.

If he could get through that he'd actually have something GSP wants.

Hed be better off fighting Robbie
This is the more likely outcome.

Robbie doesn't have a clear cut contender at the moment, and it's a fight where Conor would have some chance stylistically.

GSP would put him on his ass repeatedly... the worst possible style matchup for Conor, a super strong and athletic wrestler with explosive and unpredictable takedowns who's not clueless in striking and movement. Conor would have next to no chance.

Do you know how many big fights Gsp could have just by coming back. Forget Conor he doesn't need him. The bottom line is he lost his joy of fighting so he stopped. The fact that you think you know Gsp's motivations is ridiculous. Not everyone spends more than they earn like mcgregor. Gsp is a purist

I'm no GSP fan but he'd wrestle fuck Conor like it was a gay porn convention.

that's not where the crazy money is.. GSP is his ticket to the highest level of stardom
Conor has his own ticket and is making all this happen on his own, it's truly amazing.

If he were to fight GSP, which he wont, he would be off his feet in a minute and methodically beaten down round after round.

GSP is the one guy that doesn't need Conor for a payday.

I could see GSP really hurting him with 12 to 6 elbows from the top. GSP has always had nasty elbows from top position.

It wouldn't surprise me if he did call out GSP but I think he is more focused on having the two belts so we will see him fight RDA at UFC 200

GSP doesn't want to come back to go through war with Robbie... the Conor fight makes sense for both of them.
Yes. It is a good warm up fight for GSP to get the ring rust off before fighting higher competition
