Mr. Buttigieg, the 38-year-old former mayor of South Bend, Ind., appears to have succeeded. His showing across Iowa’s rural counties on Monday propelled him to a dead heat with Senator Bernie Sanders for the lead in the state’s caucuses. Mr. Buttigieg carried Fayette County by 14 percentage points over former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., who placed second.

Now, as the focus turns to New Hampshire and its primary next Tuesday, Mr. Buttigieg has emerged as a formidable top-tier contender, harnessing the momentum from Iowa and campaigning with confidence and a large dose of swagger.
"

In a historic and stunning victory, a gay small town mayor with a vision of progress has captured the heart of Iowa, narrowly defeating Sanders, the populist outsider whose campaign full of aggressive, irrational support reminds of the early days of the Trump Campaign.

"
“We needed a new path forward, a path that welcomed people instead of pushing them away, brought them together instead of driving them apart, because this is our best and maybe our last shot,” Mr. Buttigieg told supporters at his caucus night party on Monday in Des Moines.
"

Couldn't agree more. The things he says are full of meaning and language, and his proposals address issues of concern that require change or steadfastness. When he acts, he acts with intention, and when he speaks, he speaks with a language we all understand.

Big up to Mayor Pete!

You liberals are disastrous cowards

Get behind Bernie or lose your party forever

I hear Bernie won the popular vote.

By .1%

Aren't variations for things like this usually at +/-3%?

"Delegates". What's popular vote count?
These people want to abolish the electoral college.

Courage is a topic close to Mayor Pete's heart. When he served as an intelligence officer in Afghanistan, he had the pleasure of working with men and women of exceptional courage every day. Some of them didn't come home, and he feels that we owe them our respect and a further commitment to our values. But what he learned more than anything else was that you were underfed and your head was left too close to the fireplace.

Bernie won......Pete came out of this looking like a rat.....This will hurt em in the long run.

Oh will you just shut the fuck up

He didn't win....him and Sanders tied in national delegates and Bernie won the popular vote by over 6000 votes.

Bernie won. But they tied in delegates for the the national convention, which is what determines the nominee.

That SDE number the MSM has been focusing on is useless outside of Iowa politics.

It's weird that you're okay with Sanders taking an equal or near-equal number of delegates then. It's the process we have, and it's not Pete's fault or Bernie's fault.

It's also not the Electoral College, you dingbat.

It's almost like your rage is blinding you to reason.

Glad to hear this transparent process came to a fair conclusion.

Whatever makes you feel better. Bernie still finished in an extremely strong second place. He's positioned to become perhaps the most prolific silver medal winner in all of politics.

How many delegates did Pete win?

I bet you won't answer because you know you are full of shit.

I hear Bernie won the popular vote.
We only say this when it supports the party narrative.

Clinton won the popular vote. Buttigeig won the vote that matters.

Vote blue without a clue.

Btw, the AP refused to declare a Iowa winner, because the results you want to point to, the AP called suspect.
