Coach Kavanagh speaks detailed fight prep for 202

What?..

Skill-wise they're worlds apart.
Like I said women vs men. Aldo is much better than any of Ronda's competition, as a matter of fact Aldo has accomplished a hell of a lot more than Conor. What's your point. Ronda also accomplished more than Conor. Is Conor more skilled than Ronda? Absolutely but also irrelevant to your original statement.

It's not women vs men, it's skill vs skill.

Ronda has not accomplished more than Conor, it was far easier for her to do what she did compared to what Conor did.

"Aldo is much better than any of Ronda's competition"

Yes, and Conor knocked him out in 13 seconds. This proves my point.

Hmmm, so 1 punch means he takes all of Aldo's reign as his own? No he hasn't defended his belt and lost his last fight. Aldo won his last fight against the guy Conor was supposed to defend against. Aldo still ahead. As for Ronda she defended 3 times in 1:04 . That's accomplishing more than one punch.

1. I never said Aldo hasn't achieved more than Conor.

2. No it does not, because the fighters she did that to aren't anywhere near the level of the fighters Conor fought.

Conor's knockout of Poirier is more impressive than every one of Ronda's wins combined.

What? Alexis Davis is a perfect example of Poirier for the women's division. Cat beat the fuck out of the current champ so there is your mendes. Betche is your Siver. 1:04 for 3 fights.

She had a huge advantage with her judo, they couldn't handle it and there were no legit strikers to expose her on the feet until Holly came along.

The division was undeveloped which allowed her to just run through them. I give her credit, just nowhere near the level you have to give Conor.

Conor fought a much higher calibre fighters and beat a champion who'd dominated that division for years and was considered the p4p number 1 at the time.

Conor's done an ace job, but he's defended his title zero times, and all his best moments have been in striking - his own forte - while his worst have been on the ground - Kavanagh's forte.

Meanwhile Ronda defended 7 times and has had some of her best moments finishing with punches, finishing with knees - things which weren't her forte but were taught to her by Edmond. She has an Olympic bronze medal? Sara McMann has a silver. No matter how you spin it Ronda was plenty impressive against a variety of opponents, and Edmond very obviously helped her improve in the areas in which she was weakest. Eventually, as she tried to balance twin careers in film and fighting, while opponents concentrated 110% on fighting, her limit was found. That doesn't change a thing about what Edmond clearly helped her accomplish.

Conor, living and breathing MMA, lost on the ground - Kavanagh's specialty - to a guy on a 2-3 skid who's never been world champion in anything. Ronda, training part-time, lost on her feet - Edmond's specialty - to an undefeated multiple time world champion.

To suggest comparisons are fucking ridiculous is fucking ridiculous.

You think when Conor showed up at Kavanagh's gym to try MMA that his standup skills where on the same level of Ronda's judo skills when she ran into Edmond?

Could be a case of paralysis by analysis for Kav and Conor.

Looking forward to it immensely no matter what the outcome.

Isn't Edmund's speciality boxing? Didn't she run straight into Holly's fist repeatedly? Didn't he say she was doing beautifully even though she was clearly being dominated and was in desperate need of a game plan change?

Didn't Miesha get the better of her on the feet in both fights and Ronda only took control when they went to the ground?

Holly being a multiple world champion in boxing means nothing, the belt situation is a joke in boxing. Ask Chael.

McGregor's first loss was when he didn't even train BJJ seriously. He's admitted that.

And Kavanagh is an all around MMA coach, Edmund knows only boxing and even that he doesn't seem to know well.

Every single UFC fighter that has gone to train with Edmund has instantly had a dramatic drop off in perfomance.

If Ronda was transformed into a 145lbs man, she would not beat anyone in the top ten of the division.

Owen Roddy is Conor's striking coach. Kavanagh is the grappling guy.

Ronda won title fights with punches. Won with knees. Destroyed opponents who'd achieved even more at Olympic level than she did in other combat sports. Anyone who's not a noob or a hater, or both, knows while she still had work to do she had proven to be far from one-dimensional, even though she was splitting her time between fighting and making movies.

Conor, fully focused on fighting, got choked out by a guy on a 2-3 skid who has 10 losses in MMA.

Ronda, training part-time, lost to a multiple time World Champion who was undefeated in MMA.

Kavanagh is a grappling coach. Owen Roddy is Conor's striking coach.

And anyone who says "Ask Chael" has already lost the argument.

Yeah and Ronda only ever got trained by Edmond. I dont care to list all the different trainers she used. Ronda beat Mcmann mostly by standup not grappling which Mcmann was a one dimensional grappler as well so not like she needed great standup to do that. In fact none of those girls she fought were known for much of anything. They were all green as hell now that they have had some time to train and get some skills Ronda is nowhere to be seen.

Conor was not focussed on BJJ at all going into that fight. He's spoken about it. he was one of those "Fuck the ground game, I'll just knock everyone out" guys who have to actually get subbed before they fully respect it.

Training part-time?... lol

Exactly, so to claim Ronda's reign was solely because of some monster advantage she had due to her judo is laughable.

Thanks for making my point for me.

And yet his grappling coach, Kavanagh, is instrumental in his success?

Lol.

Training part-time?

New to Hollywood are you kid?

What point is that? She outstruck a shitty wrestler with no striking skills?

Seems like you're having trouble keeping up with the conversation.

Don't feel too bad. Reading comprehension's not for everyone.
