Maia is an absolute beast in BJJ, there's not a single guy at WW that can hang with him on the ground. It's a credit to Gunnar that he was able to prevent Mai from getting the sub.

And Albert Tumenov is a legit contender in that division and Gunnar just ended his 5 fight win streak in very impressive fashion.

Kavanagh is a big part of Conor's success, without him Conor isn't where he is today.

That's my opinion. Despite they said two or three good things about Diaz, they have no real respect for him and if you look closely to what Kavanagh said, they're already looking PAST Nate:

Contender means you're in the running for the title. Otherwise it's bollocks to use the term. Being a "legit contender for a Top 20 spot" means less than nothing.

I've supported Conor since Cage Warriors days when he would come on MMA Junkie Radio and be hilarious. Rooted for him in almost every UFC fight, including against Aldo, and will root for him against Nate. Have said countless times he's one of the best things ever to happen to our sport. Sure I like to give a little needle to those who tip over from fandom to embarrassingly loveblind mancrush hero-worship, but what else is the internet for? Aside from porn obviously.
