Media Charles Oliveira talks about possibility of fighting Gamrot on short notice and his style, "completely different" than what he prepared for vs Fiziev

Isnt Ludovit Klein a poor mans version of Fiziev? Give him that fight!

I’m sure someone like Michael Johnson would accept the fight

It's rather odd that a professional MMA fighter with 17 years of experience and who fought for the title can't handle wrestling from his opponent? Didn't he already prepare for Arman in the past, who is also a wrestler?

Imagine if Makhachev did that when he had to face Volk or Moicano.

Weak...

1) Charles is coming off a scary bad KO. For obvious reasons he's going to want to be prepared for his next fight as it will have an outsized effect on his career.

2) He's aging out and turns 36 in a few weeks. Islam was in his athletic prime with a long runway. Charles is likely a few fights from winding down. Getting laid on by Gamrot for a controversial decision doesn't sound like a worthwhile booking (I enjoy Gamrot fights, for what its worth)

I'm fine with Charles skipping this fight altogether, this was way too fast a turnaround.

Why not an unranked who deserve a shot at the top 15 like Duncan , Ziam , Orolbai

So tired of fighters twitter fighting instead of actual fighting, stfu and get in the cage already...

charles already knows he's gonna get ragdolled, I've been calling this match to be made for a long time.

I think after this one everyone will finally agree with me that charles ground game isn't very good.
The champ has a bill 🦆

It looks like none of you watched Laerte Vianas interview with Charles, where he talks about this situation.

He never said that he would not accept a fight with Gamrot. He said that he hasn’t heard about any confirmed name, and he just wants to keep training. There’s such a little time to find an opponent, but he wants to stay on the card. He said it’s difficult because they have trained for a fight against a striker who defends take downs very well and if the new opponent is a wrestler, styles are very different. But he likes the ground game so it’s fine. Never said he wouldn’t fight Gamrot.

Really funny how this comes right after he made a social media post mocking other fighters social media post for not wanting to take him on short notice.

“Everybody knows my UFC Rio fight is off,” Oliveira said..."But don’t fall for the talk of these guys out there [saying] ‘I’m here, I’ll go,’ because the UFC is calling and they’re all saying, ‘Oh, there’s not enough time to make weight. Oh, I can’t.’ They’re posting this on the internet to get hype...Stop it, it’s not a good look. I saw one saying this, another saying that, but when the UFC calls, what do they say? ‘Oh, I can’t. I got belly ache. I broke a finger. I hurt my hand.’ Enough with that, it’s not a good look.”

But now he says he is not interested in Gamrot? Not a good look, indeed.

I fully support fighters wanting to be prepared for the style of their opponent...but then maybe don't put others on blast if you are not prepared to practice what you preach?
