Yeah Ping literally fought with 50% vision

Yeah Ping literally fought with 50% vision
That’s a good point. I’m really curious what his diopter numbers are. Those first 10-30 minutes after taking off glasses or contacts you feel blind as a bat, Oliveira is just an anomoly and insane fighterAs someone who wears glasses, and doesnt have the best vision either, its really the first time i ever notice someone wear glasses all the way to the ring. When i take my glasses off it takes me time to adjust to not having them on. If i had to fight without glasses, its no problem, but I'd at least give my eyes some time to adjust. He wears them all the way to the ring,so maybe he really cant see,and is afraid of tripping or something. Thats crazy. Id def get Lasik then.
When I fought, am and pro.. during fighter meetings, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota and Ca athletic commissions literally told us to not step into the cage with contacts on. Some get lasik, but that's cutting slits into your eye, and it's not a permanent fix, have to get multiple surgeries over the course of time as vision decreases. A lot of fighters who constantly pressure when fighting, are doing so for style reasons but also because when fighting with poor vision, the closer you remain to your opponent, the easier it is to see them clearly. Only place I ever fought with my contacts in was in Canada for Firas's now defunct Fight Night MMA org.Can he not put contacts in?
It somehow makes him more likable and relatableThat’s a good point. I’m really curious what his diopter numbers are. Those first 10-30 minutes after taking off glasses or contacts you feel blind as a bat, Oliveira is just an anomoly and insane fighter
I played my freshman yr of college football without my contacts.. as a fucking weak side (man to man, on an island) cornerback. Didn't get one int that season but never gave up a td over 10 yards, because I literally just keyed off the receiver and situation regarding to down plus distance, not the qb or shifts, because I couldn't see shit. I had to play bump and run on every down just so I could see the receiver at the snap of the ball. Also this is close combat. Almost any other sport would suck to participate in with bad vision. Not martial arts tho
During a fight?
During fight? NoCan he not put contacts in?
"If i take off the glasses, I can only see 50% but it never hindered me in a fight. God blesses me so much that i can see normal in the fight, but if i take them off in the street, im blind"
Damn...
...Contacts?
I think it’s also to do with that he does not need to see “crystal clear” in the fight.Hmm. Must be an evolutionary thing, right before combat the senses are sharpened. I wonder how many years of brutish crushing, tearing, ripping, eviscerating, disemboweling, etc. had to take place throughout our evolutionary dynasty to acquire such a trait.
