Do you need 20/20 vision to fight? I'm sure it doesnt hurt to have it, but do you need it? You aren't staring at punches 50 feet away. As long as he can see close to him it seems fine. Of course I don't know how bad his eyes really are.

I need my glasses for about everything but I never wore them when I wrestled or did Jiu-Jitsu... There's actually a lot of blind wrestlers competing at fairly high levels.

That's cool man. Yeah wrestling and jiu jitsu I can see bad eye not being a major disadvantage if at all because it's close quarters and one you feel contact you probably just go on auto pilot.

I often wonder about this. I can't see shit without contacts or glasses. I don't think I'd be able to fight without them so I guess surgery would be the only option? I can't imagine getting punched in the eye with contacts in, would be impossible to see.

It's probably why he is so good at submissions. Easier for a person with shit sight to grapple than stand up and fight.

Perhaps the options can be:

Always had to wear glasses/contacts.
Only just started to have to wear glasses/contacts (aging sucks).
Only wear glasses when reading, etc.
Never had to wear glasses.

I fortunately have excellent vision. Never had problems with my eyesight but my hearing is pretty shit. I don't need hearing aids though.

How much did it set you back?

6k NZ dollar which goes for about 4k USD.i got an option where I just pay 60 bucks a week for 2 years. I was ridiculously blind too. It took 30 minutes and by the next morning 20/20 vision. My only regret is not doing it sooner.

I've wondered for a long time how he's improved so much in his striking offense but his defense hasn't improved much. He seems to have so much trouble seeing punches. No my friend, our senses were forged over millennia of brutal and vicious combat. Last man standing. Survival of the fittest. Winner gets to go home and fuck the prom queen. Always was, always will be.

As someone who wears glasses,and doesnt have the best vision either,its really the first time i ever notice someone wear glasses all the way to the ring. When i take my glasses off it takes me time to adjust to not having them on. If i had to fight without glasses,its no problem,but I'd at least give my eyes some time to adjust. He wears them all the way to the ring,so maybe he really cant see,and is afraid of tripping or something. Thats crazy. Id def get Lasik then.
