Media *** CHAMA!!! Alex Pereira UFC 303 Victory & Aftermath Thread ***

Delusional fanboy.

Recency bias Shertard requirement for becoming GOAT:

Go 1-1 with Izzy
Go life and death with 41 year old Jan
Knock out contender series Hill
Knock out LHW Tony Ferguson Jiri

"GOAT"

🥴🥴🥴🥴
Stil, beating Strickland, Adesanya, Blachowitz, Hill and Prochazkax2 is pretty impressive for a past his prime, one dimensional kickboxer that can’t wrestle out of a paper bag.

No one even mentioned Jones except YOU which proves Jones is the GOAT. It don't matter how much in denial you are about it.
That doesn't make any sense. Mentioning someone doesn't make them the GOAT.

It seems the only challenge left for him is at HW now.

It makes perfect sense. This thread was about Alex being the GOAT ( which he is no where near ) and out of nowhere he brings up Jones. So obviously he knows Jones is the GOAT.

Far? He’s a hw title away - if he moves up and wins a third belt it’s history and undebateable
Here is a debate point for you.
UFC only so no argument re Fedor.
GOAT UFC champion in each division:
HW has to be Stipe
LHW has to be Jon Jones
MW has to be Anderson

So Alex potentially has MW title, LHW title and if he gets a HW title he is the GOAT of Mixed Martial Arts yet is not even close to GOAT of any division?????

Alex is impressive however IMO he never earned his way in MIXED martial arts. His kickboxing career and history with Izzy got him his opportunities. No chance he gets a MW title shot so early and without fighting a single MW with good wrestling.

If he doesn't have the history with Izzy no way he gets a Title Eliminator in his first LHW fight in the UFC. That's some crazy "Snowplow Parenting" for Alex by the UFC.

Now that isn't Alex's fault and he is just fighting who he gets offered. He is the one getting in there and performing and he has defended the LHW belt twice now and IMO established the Lineage after the UFC was making a joke of the LHW title making every fight a title fight so respect on that. If he moves up to HW and skips fighting Ankalaev then that destroys all of that and throws that Lineage as the best LHW into the trash. MMA is a lot like Rock, Paper, Scissors. Alex is scissors and he will always beat paper. True champions find a way to beat all three styles and the UFC has basically only matched him up with paper so far so does that make him a "Paper" champion?

Ah yes. The mythical wrestler. I'm old enough to remember when people said the same thing about Anderson Silva.
What is mythical about it? In his Prime run Anderson had a 16 fight win streak where he ran through most of his opponents. From the Chris Leben fight through the Stephan Bonnar fight the only ones who gave him any level of trouble was Dan Henderson who dominated him in the first round only to get finished and Chael in their first fight. No one else in that run had any decent offensive wrestling except maybe Okami.

Leben, Franklin, Lutter, Marquardt, Irvin, Cote, Leites, Griffin, Maia, Belfort and Bonnar. Which one had any level of wrestling? 11 fighters and if I told you they had 11 career TDs combined you would take a beat to think about it.

Name the opponent with good offensive wrestling that Alex Pereira has faced in MMA.
