what does "dei active" means?what does that even mean?
it means being actively pushed institutionally. what else can it mean?

then why is Trump replacing the former CJCSC w/ a person whoNo, its about hiring the most qualified people. Maybe you wanna go out and fight the enemy with a chick having your back? Maybe you can get "Rachel" Levine, or Sam Brinton to help you.
No, its about hiring the most qualified people.
Probably because he thought this guy is the most qualified to fullfill his needs at the head of the joint chiefs? it's a political nomination after all. Then why did Trump just fire the most qualified person and replace him with someone who isn't even qualified?

what else is there to elaborate? it's a political posting that Trump needed to fill with somebody pushing his type of policies from the top of the joint chiefs. So the dude who literally didn't even meet the qualifications for the job...is somehow more qualified than the person who is eminently qualified...because Donald Trump has "needs" that need to be "fulfilled"?
Wanna elaborate on that steaming load of horse shit, or are we just gonna leave it at that?

the fuck would i know? ask trump, he nominated the guy. he clearly wants something that the other guy couldn't provide. What policies are these, that the eminently qualified former chairman couldn't fulfill, that the unqualified guy can?
Fired.
...
This evening the President announced that he intends to nominate Lieutenant General Dan "Razin" Caine, USAF, for the position of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the nation's highest-ranking military officer, and the principal military advisor to the President, Secretary of Defense, and National Security Council.
General Caine embodies the warfighter ethos and is exactly the leader we need to meet the moment. I look forward to working with him. The outgoing Chairman, Gen. Charles "CQ" Brown, Jr., USAF, has served with distinction in a career spanning four decades of honorable service. I have come to know him as a thoughtful adviser and salute him for his distinguished service to our country.
I am also requesting nominations for the positions of Chief of Naval Operations and Air Force Vice Chief of Staff. The incumbents in these important roles, Admiral Lisa Franchetti and General James Slife, respectively, have had distinguished careers. We thank them for their service and dedication to our country. We are also requesting nominations for the Judge Advocates General for the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Under President Trump, we are putting in place new leadership that will focus our military on its core mission of deterring, fighting, and winning wars.

LoL honest to fuck you are fucking DUMB and proud of it.How does forcing DEI actually help with the image of these people of color?
cause now it's established policy to hire on superficial characteristics like skin color.
why should anyone give the benefit of the doubt for professionalism if skin color was the actual motivation for the hire?
he wasn't replaced for being black. he was replaced for pushing shitty ideology as i read it.
well if he was an unqualified minority as you said it, why shouldn't everyone say it's an incompetent? you make it sound like trump hired some dude from the curb. and this guy that's been fired was hired by trump himself, so i don't see the problem. it's the usual hysterics around anything trump does.
Yeah, fuck national security. Put an unqualified asshole in the position because Trump agrees with him. This is why I have a problem with foreigners weighing in on these matters. This is my country, brother. I have skin in the game.the fuck would i know? ask trump, he nominated the guy. he clearly wants something that the other guy couldn't provide.
well it is based on merit, the merit in this case being what trump needs. i don't know why that's so hard to understand. it's a political posting, the big boss has to like you and want you on the job. if i was president tomorrow, i'd also pick the dude most willing and able to do whatever the fuck i want from him from the post i give him. it's absolutely normal. So you're saying it was a personal choice not based on merit?
What do you guys usually call that? The words escape me.
I didn't hear anything when Biden put Buttgig in charge of transportation......and we all know how that went. Presidents pick who they want. It's not really anything newThen why did Trump just fire the most qualified person and replace him with someone who isn't even qualified?

Like Kash Petal and Pam Bondi?

in this case yes it does, because being what trump wants is literally the most important qualification. you guys seem to have a mental block about understanding this. That's not what merit means.
as i said before, he is, you just don't seem to understand the job is a political posting, and in this context it's a "what trump wants" type of job.(The part that isn't normal is that Trump's needs require someone who isn't actually qualified for the job in question.)
category error. analogy works like this - if i have to choose between a 50 star general who went and done things i don't like, and a lieutenent general who will do what i say, why wouldn't i choose the latter? If it's my decision to hire a passenger jet pilot and my choices are a 30 year veteran of the USAF with decades of experience flying jets, and a dude who has flown a hundred hours in a Cessna, and I choose the latter...my goal is obviously not competency. So the question that raises is...what is my goal?

my goal is - getting a guy that will do what i want and be aligned with my general political objectives. in this case, this guy trump chose fits perfectly.
