They use to say the same about Islam and Charles which was never the case.. Charles has some of the best BJJ in MMA but showed no respect and I don´t think Khamzat will either.. He did it against Burns and he shouldn´t have done it

Yeah and that is why I say Chimaev´s all standing up game plan against Burns was flawed he should have gone after him via wrestling and try to sub him

I think Caio has way better stand up and the BJJ to defend any subs coming his way tbf.

I don´t think Caio has better striking but it won´t be necessary. HE won´t be able to defend the takedowns. It won´t matter really how good a guy is in BJJ but you gotta be great wrestler to not end up below him and that is the only defense against him not BJJ

I read the thread title and was like, "Is this one of those 'Ja Rule' situations??" I didn't realize Berreto worked for the UFC, that's kinda cool. He was a tough fighter, had a few good names (for the time) on his resume, went to a split with Igor Vovchanchyn when Igor was in his prime, and likely would have won against Yvel if not for being ref pwnt hard (unless the rules called for what the ref did, rules were different from place to place back in the cut, but idk...). Decide for yourselves. Whatever the case, most cold-blooded takedown immediately at the opening bell ever.



As far as what he says in the article, of course he's bringing up Poatan, he's on Brazilian FP and that is what people watching Brazilian FP want him to talk about. But Barreto is speaking very highly of Khamzat, and that says a lot, Barreto being one of the men who founded Black House back in the day. I'd say he knows grappling.
