Kamaru Usman Picks Khamzat Chimaev Over Robert Whittaker

I want him to be right

Ur still my brotha tho

If Chimaev can hold up and ride a bulked up Usman for an entire round he most certainly can do the same against Whittaker.

There’s still plenty of time to pull out but if not, Chimaev will show his elite level once again and all the fickle idiots on here will be back on the bandwagon pretending they supported Khamzat even when it was fashionable to shit on him.

Either that or Whittaker adds another win to his already ridiculously stacked murderer’s row of scalps.

For the neutral fan (such as myself) this is one of the best fights we’ve had in a while. It’s pretty much guaranteed to be fuckin sick.

Its a great fight. I don't think anyone doubts Chimaev will win the first round, it's the other 4 we expect Rob to win fairly comfortably.
If there isn't an early finish, it's hard to see how Khamzat wins 3 rounds.

ah yes the overlooked phenomenon of picking a fighter who either

beat you
or
you won against

to win against his own opponent

to which by default heightens your own face-off against said opponent. the ultimate bad faith premise.

why I actually found it intriguing Sterling simply said that Yan "just isn't that good" despite defeating him. a rare instance really
He said the same about O'malley too lol. Sterling has an interesting look on things i guess

The fans Khamzat lost are all from his own actions sir.
He could win 20 im a row he already imbrued himself, but that's just my opinion of course brother.

yeah you're right he's a fuckin idiot

but he's my fuckin idiot and he brings the exitement like no other!

You are back in the Goatmaev train ? Tchou tchou! <RomeroSalute>
The most depressing hype train of all time. It's been 5 years now lol

While Khamzat is obviously one of the best wrestlers and grapplers in the game, people tend to forget that Usman is past his prime, fought on short notice going up a weight class. His knees are notoriously bad, like he ”can’t walk down a flight of stairs” bad. He’s gritty as fk for fighting at this level with his knees, but that takes a lot away from his grappling. Someone like Khamzat can abuse just that weakness by going hard and fast from the bell (and by being one of the best wrestlers, too).

Interesting to see how Whittaker’s TDD holds up and how hard Khamzat will pursue those takedowns since this is a 5 round fight and Whittaker will keep going, he’s been in the deep waters so many times before.

I say Whittaker takes it and wins by TKO in the 3rd.

Both fighter have had illness and pull out of fights.
<Fedor23>
Both have shown weaknesses, survived wars, and both have shown utter dominance.

<RomeroSalute> <WhatItIs>

Usman wouldn't have survived Whittaker.

he ”can’t walk down a flight of stairs” bad
I think this is a lie from Usman, he moves perfectly fine when fighting, leg muscles look normal, no atrophy... If this was true we would see it easily, like with Shogun for example, how less agile he became with all those knee operations.

Doesn’t he have like the skinniest legs in the division? So skinny they look funny with that jacked torso and arms
