Law Capitol Rioter Megathread

Lmao thanks school house rock. Im sure it'll arrive in a few days and theyll read it and think "wow! Why have i been simping for corporate interests?! If only az103 had written me sooner!" Truly, ill draft it up now.
school house rock? are you accusing me of having musical talent? im sure a stiffly worded correspondence with your congressman will produce more results than whining on a karate forum, almost without exception everyone disagress with your assertion that the person shot while attempting to get into the congressional chamber was unjustly killed, perhaps if your local representative was to bring the subject up than the womans family could see justice done .......or perhaps you have it ass backwards,,,

Capitol rioter's attempt to bond with judge before sentencing backfires

"A Washington man has been sentenced to three years probation and 30 days of intermittent confinement for participating in the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

John Cameron was also fined $1,000 and must pay $500 in restitution, according to reports.

As he was sentenced, Cameron reportedly tried to use the fact that the judge in his case was appointed by former President Ronald Reagan.

Can you guess who my favorite president is?” Cameron asked Senior Judge Thomas F. Hogan before after his own question. "Ronald Reagan."

As The Washington Post points out, Cameron then went on to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, but the judge was not impressed.

Hogan then began grilling Cameron over his choice to go to the Capitol that day, asking him if he indeed thought the riot was "fun," as he'd posted on Facebook.

“No,” Cameron replied. “I picketed within the Capitol, and that was illegal. ... I would never do it again.”

But Hogan was having none of it.

I keep hearing from Jan. 6 defendants, ‘We’re being prosecuted,’ like it’s a surprise, or ‘We’re being persecuted,’ like it’s unfair. I do not understand that psychology,” Hogan told him. “What irritates me most is that all of you are claiming you’re patriots; you’re not patriots when you attack the Capitol of the United States.”

Hogan told Cameron that he was lucky he wasn't being charged with a felony.

“If you had pleaded to a felony, I would just put you in jail for a long time,” he said. “The court at least hopes that in this three-year period, you don’t engage in any such conduct again."

"Bubbbuuut! Judge! My favorite President was Ronald Reagan!!!!!"

Judge - "Law and Order!"

I judge each shoot by each shoot. Every time. So there is no hypocrisy. Im done with the hypotheticals

I dont condone execution just because you break into a government building. I feel like ive made that clear. People can continue to cheer the officer all they want, shooting ashley babbit only insures that next time these types of individuals will not come unarmed. It is in no way a win for anyone.

Here now ill throw some chum for all you fuckers. If you have a problem with the government you shouldn't be burning down wendys and looting k mart. You should be raiding the capitol and hanging traitors. To quote jesse ventura, "maybe its time we bring back the gallows". For insider trading, for fucking chinese spies, for fixing primaries and elections. Tie color doesnt matter.

Have at it you freaks.

there you go again, leaving out 99% of the context. By “breaking into a government building” you mean joining up with a large violent mob who clubbed their way past police to attempt to get at politicians. Leaving out the whole mob violence aimed at fleeing politicians part makes you look like a coward who can’t actually debate the topic so you ignore all context then throughout a bunch of “whatabouts” as you run away .

Point out where im a hypocrite with quotes or apologize. Dont fucking try to smear me.

You just said it would be better to attack the Capitol building than to protest in the street and harm a private business you basically just called for violence against the Capitol building didn't you?

If I am wrong just clear this up and I will admit it right now no problem I have no intention to slander you friend.

Do you think that it was illegal and wrong for the January 6th protesters to break into the Capitol building and do damage and do you support every one of them going to jail for doing it or facing whatever appropriate sentencing the judge hands out?

Also do you think that police firing rubber bullets and pepper spray into the faces of people who wouldn't back off at the black lives matter protests we're also wrong to do so?

Calm down bro you're obviously heavily invested in this. I don't think most people are cheering that cop but have sympathy for the situation he's in. Also for Ashley who was obviously led down the rabbit hole and was just about batshit crazy. If you want to lay blame at anyone's feet it should be Trump, that sent his followers into harms way, in an attempt to overturn a free and fair election to cling to power.

It is absolutely the direct result of Trump's rhetoric that that woman is dead, he led many of those people to believe they were acting on the will of the president and we're in the right.

Back before anyone died because of Trump's rhetoric many of us were saying this will result in death and being mocked by the people on the right for giving so much power to "words".

Besides that stern lecture, he still seems to have gotten off pretty light.

mocking the fact that words can be powerful is a sure sign of a moron. trump has the vocabulary of a 10 year old, yet he managed to convince a bunch of jackoffs to attack the seat of government , and fleeced his followers for several hundred million.

That was part of the false flag, to usher an mk ultra puppet into the building to take out that old bat... They ushered them in but somehow she knelt her way out of danger...

Trump supporter who flew on private jet to Jan. 6 riot and threw media equipment outside the Capitol pleads guilty

"WASHINGTON — A woman who flew on a private plane to the nation's capital ahead of the Jan. 6 riot pleaded guilty Thursday to engaging in disruptive or disorderly conduct in a restricted building.

Katherine Schwab of Texas, who said she accepted an offer to fly on the personal aircraft of a Facebook friend, admitted to writing in messages before the Capitol attack that "s--t will go down" and that she needed to "stop the steal."

Schwab admitted to kicking and throwing media equipment with other members of the mob outside the Capitol.

“I went into the f---ing Capitol," Schwab admitted saying in a video recording on the day of the riot, calling police “traitors,” “sheep” and “pathetic."

Schwab said she went inside the Capitol because then-Vice President Mike Pence had "f--ked us over."

Judge Christopher R. Cooper, a federal judge in D.C., on Thursday set Schwab's sentencing hearing for Dec. 9."

Wow. You leave home to fly on a private jet to attempt an insurrection and document it all on social media.

Brilliant.

‘You’re not patriots’: Judge throws the book at Jan 6 rioter as he rambles about Reagan in court

According to The Washington Post, Mr Cameron then recited the Pledge of Allegiance in a further attempt to curry favour ahead of his sentencing.

Mr Hogan was not impressed and began to drill Mr Cameron about his choice to participate in the Capitol riot. He asked if Mr Cameron truly thought the riot was "fun”, referencing a post the man made on Facebook after the incident.

“No,” Mr Cameron said. “I picketed within the Capitol, and that was illegal. ... I would never do it again.”

The appeals to patriotism apparently frustrated Mr Hogan, who chastised Mr Cameron and said he and other participants in the riot did not deserve to call themselves patriots.

“I keep hearing from Jan 6 defendants, ‘We’re being prosecuted,’ like it’s a surprise, or ‘We’re being persecuted,’ like it’s unfair. I do not understand that psychology,” Mr Hogan said. “What irritates me most is that all of you are claiming you’re patriots; you’re not patriots when you attack the Capitol of the United States.”

Capitol rioter claimed he was elsewhere on Jan. 6, handing out Bibles

Described by the FBI as a white supremacist, Bryan Betancur pleaded guilty in May to one count of disorderly conduct in a restricted building or grounds

As authorities tell it, convicted burglar Bryan Betancur made what seemed to be a reasonable request to Maryland probation officials a few days before the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Prohibited from leaving the state without permission, he asked to travel to the District on Jan. 6, 2021, so that he could hand out Bibles on behalf of the Christian group The Gideons International.

Maryland’s division of parole and probation said okay.

“Betancur provided [his] probation officer with updates throughout the day and communicated that he would not be home by the normal curfew time,” a federal prosecutor said in a court filing.

In a recent plea deal, Betancur acknowledged that his story about distributing the Good Book was a ruse. Instead, clad in a shirt bearing a logo of the Proud Boys, a far-right group with a history of violence, he attended Donald Trump’s incendiary rally on the Ellipse, after which Betancur stormed the Capitol with an angry mob of fellow Trump supporters trying to prevent Congress from affirming Joe Biden’s electoral victory, according to the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington.

Betancur, described by the FBI as a white supremacist who lived with his mother in Silver Spring, Md., was sentenced Wednesday to four months behind bars for participating in the riot. Although his age isn’t clear (prosecutors say he is 24; his attorney says 22), there was no dispute in U.S. District Court in D.C. regarding his Jan. 6 whereabouts.

What helped give him away: On the day of the insurrection, he was wearing a GPS tracking device that had been affixed to one of his ankles by probation officials after his release from incarceration in a Maryland burglary case.
