Can The Avengers take down Superman?

Thor takes them all to Asgard (or somewhere away from our sun) where Cap slaps Clark silly while the rest of the Avengers drink mead and make fun of yellow suns. Simple as that.

Yeah, I know next to nothing about Supes cause he's Superlame.

Thor or Hulk could fight him one on one, so the two together plus Iron Man and Cap should make it easy. Batman would wreck all of them, though.

Since Superman is literally thousands of times faster than them, no. He rips them in half one by one, while they wonder what is turning all of their friends into a red paste.

Didn't Wolverine survive an atomic blast? I'm guessing that would trump going through a silly at high velocity.

Among other things Supes has survived nukes, being on a planet as it exploded, being punched so hard he flew into space, etc.

Pre crisis no

Post crisis yes
Post crisis still has super speed and is thousands of times faster than anyone on the avengers. Their only speedster was quicksilver. His ONLY power is speed and superman is still LEAGUES faster than him. For reference quicksilver is generally fast enough to speed blitz most characters in the marvel universe.

Again...I don't even have to read the comics to know they wrote it without keeping continuity to Supes speed. I doubt they even address it. Because how could you and still tell a compelling story?

Supes could litterally round the globe in a blink of an eye and be whereever the avengers were and disable any plan used to counter supe's speed before it was even activated.

Prep time would hardly be a path to victory against someone who can move so fast you are perceived as standing still.

So while it's fun to see these cross over stories told by random writers...I lose interest if they don't write an accurate story. Once ya realize that they are not staying to to the character's real powers then you are just reading an agenda that the writers have. And at that point you may as well just say "well because this writer hates superman...thor wins."

Yeah I've read it and it's Plot Induced Stupidity as you'd expect. He fights toe to toe with Thor, only haymakers, puts him down, then the entire avengers dogpile him. He never attempts to use the full range of his powers. Since he'd solo them in under 60 seconds if he did. And that's boring.

On Thor's chariot he has a belt that doubles his strength. If he uses it, he basically has to spend a week in bed to recover. Thor would take a LOT out of Superman before he fought the Hulk in this scenario. Superman is NOT stronger than the Hulk. The angrier Hulk gets, the stronger he gets. A bloodlusted Superman (that was the kicker here) would not be thinking rationally and would be in a berserker rage.

No one out berserks The Strongest One There Is.

No one.

Sans Kryptonite, it would boil down to a berserk Superman fighting a berserk Hulk.

Hulk does what Doomsday did but with even more violence.

In comic book battle discussion, bloodlust is actually somewhat of a technical term. It doesn't mean berserker fury, but rather the character operating at their full capability. Not forgetting to use all of their powers and generally fighting like a retard. Fighting to kill and going all out to win even if they're normally a boy scout, or written to conveniently forget half their (seriously OP) power set.

Why bother giving him those powers in the first place?

So is Thor's, except its a much more potent weapon of his than Billy.

Yeah if you look at the full scans of that fight, Supes was holding back while a mind controlled Shazam was going full out, using magic, supermans only other weakness. Superman still won that fight though, and on sheer durability. No speed involved.

Superman is an alien. Thor is a literal god. Your logic is flawed and invalid.
The gods in the Marvel universe are basically just powerful superheroes and they can all be killed. The closest thing to an omnipotent god is The One Above All, who is rarely invoked because he is completely indifferent to our physical world.

The most powerful humanoid being in the Marvel universe however is Franklin Richards.

he could literally erase Thor's existence with the snap of a finger.

Because 99% of DC characters are stupidly, hilariously overpowered. To the point they've been nerfing them for 50 years and they're still many tiers above Marvels heavy hitters.

Green Lantern is practically a god, Flash has an entire suite of absurd plot device powers on top of being faster than the speed of light. WW is almost as fast, strong, and durable as Supes AND she has magical weapons and armor. Even their lower tier guys like Aquaman are stronger than the majority of marvel heroes. The real problem is DC gives a lot of guys super strength, durability, and speed. Meaning unless you were functionally retarded. you would rip other godlike characters apart before they knew you were there. Super strength plus super speed equals SUPER op.

ok so Superman throws Thor up into space. that only delays the fight, it doesnt kill Thor. if anything Superman would just be yellowcarded for refusing to engage actual fighting

Superman is stronger, and MUCH more durable than Thor. Like a LOT more. But again that would never matter because supes is LITERALLY thousands of times faster. THOUSANDS.

a true assessment of the Flash's powers should have him easily defeating all the Avengers and X-men at once.

seriously. the flash is pretty much a god if you consider something like the infinite mass punch.

it's equally dumb how Marvel has regular human dudes (Hawkeye, Capt America, Black Widow, etc) fighting alongside superheroes and taking the same hits and brushing it off like an invincible superhuman would.

Post crisis superman had his power cut in half. And he also lost the "superpower for any situation" he had pre crisis.

Post crisis superman can be challenged physically by hulk, iron man hulk buster armour, and thor.

Pre crisis superman would dominate all of them. But post crisis superman had his abilities cut to the point where the avengers can beat him.

Cap is not a normal human.

Yeah people itt seem mind blown about Supes, wait until they find out the Flash has actually been FAR more powerful than any of the Justice League for decades. His powers make Superman look like Aquaman.
