Buffalo Wild Wings Wouldn't Show UFC In The Dining Area

The real reason is that they prob don't want fight fans camping out for 3 hours in the dining room when they could be turning tables of little league shits and their booze hound coaches all night.

I always ask the server if it's ok that we stay for the entire time. They haven't said no or implied it. I don't think they mind too much as long as you keep ordering food and tip well

About 2 years ago we were up there for a card. It was packed so had to sit dining side. We asked at 9 to have the prelims turned on. They said they wouldnt turn the fights on til 10 on the family side.

My buddy manages a Bubba's 33 in Indiana. He knew we were big fans soo he invited us out there for their first Ufc fight for Diaz vs Silva. 60inch tvs all around. They no longer show fights there now cause they are upstarting and aren't sure if they want the fight fan crowd (aka those guys)

This.
People having a few beers don't start brawling and fucking on tables.

I don't understand the surprise at this. If this is a place where families frequently go, then it shouldn't be too hard to comprehend that combat sports might be a bit too graphic for family dinner time.
There's nothing pussy about that, I love combat sports, but I can't say I would've enjoyed seeing Jones' broken toe, or Lawler's face shredding off while i was havin dinner with my family.

Are you really this fucking stupid? BWW is a place for people to go to drink beer and watch sports. It's not a family atmosphere and people that bring their kids there at 10 o clock at night are fucking stupid anyway. Last time I was there the Lightning game was on and a dude was belligerently drunk screaming at the TV with expletives. Don't bring your kids to BWW, Hooters or Wing House type places late at night when fights or football/hockey is on. If a waiter told me this i'd be infuriated that some dumb ass parent couldn't realize that BWW isn't a place to bring your kids during games. Unless of course, you're a cool parent, and not a pussy, and want them to chill at places like this.

i've been to about 5 different BWWs at various times to watch the fights and Iive never had that problem. hope it doesn't become a trend.

This. Tip the server well they wont care

I was up in Seattle around the time the OSP/Glover fight was about to start and I saw a BWW so I figured I'd grab some beer/wings and watch the fights. I prefer to sit at the bar just because it's easier but the bar was full so I sat in the dining area.

I asked my waitress if she could put the UFC on the TV closest to me and she said she's not allowed to show UFC fights in the dining area since children could be present. I was pretty surprised, she said they had received some complaints from families stating that the UFC fights are too violent and they don't feel comfortable eating there with their kids when the fights are on.

I thought it was pretty stupid tbh, parents are willing to bring their kids to a place filled with drunk people but are afraid for their kids to watch two people fight professionally?

You were surprised by this? It's two guys beating each other up in a cage, its not exactly socially acceptable everywhere....not even legal in NY

This is a good example how out of touch some mma fans are when they compare the salaries of the UFC to the NHL, NBA, NFL.....those are leagues that some ppl like, some ppl dislike, but none of those leagues are banned from viewing and have few if any ppl who are dead set against them and want them to be illegal/banned.

Its a fringe sport, a very minor and somewhat controversial fringe sport

Don't take your kids to a mainly bar setting at 10 at night. Wild Wings serves alcohol throughout the place and I've never considered it a family setting. A place to go with your bros and drink, an upper class sports bar.

my son has been watching mma since he was 3 years old, from the bareknuckle UFC 1 days untill the present. No problems. He was way more shocked when i showed him a pro wrestling match

Waaaah I couldn't watch the lame fight when I wanted where I wanted. Waaaah.

The UFC makes it a no-brainer to stream all their events from home.

Nearly every restaurant serves booze in the dining areas. That doesn't make it any more of a bar than Boston Pizza, or The Keg. They're family restaurants that happen to have a bar in them.

BWW is a sports bar with drunk fans screaming at TVs. I've been to a bar on Sunday and been to BWW on a Sunday and their is no difference. Don't act like it's your normal family restaurant, it's main demo is sports fan, which are you usually drink loud mouths.

so if you know that there gonna be fights broadcasted in a diner and dont like your kids to see it. Pick another diner?

You little baby. Watch it at home . And when you go out don't dominate the atmosphere with your MMA geekdom.

Shouldn't take more than 25 minutes max to fill a Buffalo Wild Wings with uppercuts, depending on the seating capacity

This. I applaud the ufc for their shady, sport destroying greed as it helps me justify never paying for their product.

It's not classy, but it still advertises as a wholesome family restaurant. Can't have it both ways. If it ain't showing the UFC, too bad. Go to real bar. Be a man, damnit.

The UFC has an NSFW warning for it's content. The restaurant was following policy regarding the broadcasting of mature content.

You have an issue with a restaurant following a policy it is supposed to follow? I take my daughter to wild wing all the time to eat because we both like wings. I'm not allowed to take her to a restaurant that serves alcohol? They all do...

My daughter is old enough now that it wouldn't matter what was playing on the tv's but when she was little, I would not want her to see men or women beating each other up.

IF the place does not have an age requirement to enter then you can take your kids, it's that simple. That is the difference between a bar and a restaurant. And just for the record, Wild Wing does kid's birthday parties as well :icon_chee
