BREXIT Discussion, v4.0: The Back-Pedaling

But I have no intention of doing so. So it won't. Just like the EHRA is of limited use to me, as I'm not a :eek::eek::eek:phile, terrorist or drug dealer.

In any case, a friend of mine is an oil worker who's job regularly takes him to Europe. He still voted leave, so I think you're exaggerating the effect.

I don't think the issue will be with people that work for big oil companies. They have large HR departments and are willing to spent money for work visas in order to get qualified workers. It will probably will be more an issue for smaller companies or tech start ups.

42 pages of cases. 2 seconds on Google. Again, I as a citizen am less free without that court. That is undeniable. There may be applications of the law we don't like, but thankfully the legal system doesn't rely on us having to like the outcomes of key cases for us to have the rights.

Of course we can still travel and work in Europe, but there will be barriers where there were none. Again, as a citizen I am less free without Europe.

None of the EHRA cases directly effect me. You might as well ask me to care about equality for women, blacks and gays. If you want equality for those groups, crack on and good luck. Just don't expect me to give a shit, as it doesn't effect me directly.

And as I stated before, there's a good chance the EU will fall apart anyway. Brexit could very well be simply the first domino to fall.

He has two homes, one of them in Europe and on average he pulls down about £200 an hour. But yeah, he voted to give all that up:rolleyes:

Again, I am not putting in doubt that your friend truly believes that his voting for the UK to leave the EU will not put his livelihood danger.

What I am questioning is your using that opinion as evidence of anything. Just because he believes something doesn't make it so.

And I could say the exact same about you. This is all just speculation at this point.

One thing I'm damn sure off is that Brexit will not directly effect me. I don't work in Europe. The company I work for is based in the UK. And if I had enough money to travel for a holiday, I'd go to America.

Of course they affect you. They establish precedent and make up part of the UK's constitution.

The simple fact I have to explain this to you, and you have nothing remotely intelligent to add, makes you the ultimate brexiteer. Ignorant and proud, no sense of civic duty, no plan, just, fuck Europe. You don't even care that you are now less free than you were, you absolute peasant.

This is the other irony. On the one hand, our relationship with Europe hasn't changed and it's all scaremongering. On the other hand, Europe is a sinking ship and we should invest/trade elsewhere to minimise the financial impact. If the leave side had ANY leadership whatsoever, there would be a semblance of a plan, but there fact is there isn't.

This is embarrassing for Britain. Hope you're happy, you've helped bring about a totally unnecessary political crisis, and no plan to get us out.

That's a pretty narrow and selfish world-view that you have there.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

The only time I've ever been to court is as a witness. I've never been arrested, charged or convicted of any crime. So the precedents are utterly worthless to my everyday life. Ironically, the "people" who benefit most out of the Human Rights Act are sub-humans like :eek::eek::eek:philes. And lawyers, of course.

So fuck you and fuck Europe. It's run by cowards, retards and whores. I sincerely hope the entire, rotten structure finally collapses under the weight of it's own arrogance and corruption. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

So Nigel and Boris led the campaign to leave the EU but now that the UK voted to leave they are abandoning their leadership positions?

That quotation always makes me laugh. I don't expect anyone to speak out for me. I trust almost no one. Especially not politicians.

FYI, when the first Holocaust survivors arrived in Israel, they were regarded as an embarrassment by Israeli's who fought in the War of Independence, because they let themselves be rounded up and slaughtered instead of trying to fight.

The world is cold and dark. Trust no one. Hit first, hit hard and look out for number one. Relying on the kindness of strangers gets you fucked:)

Boris got shanked by his co-conspirators, he'd have stayed on if he could have I imagined.
He was also a johnny-come-lately to the campaign, not relevant really.

Nigel got what he wanted, he isn't an MP even so I'm not sure what else he'd do at this point. It's not like he's in a position to direct anything important.
I think he's a bit fed up of his own party TBH. But he could have stuck around a year or so more just to keep up appearances IMO
Will be interesting to see if he does something else politically in the near future (new party??)

Well then, if that is the way you look at the world I think further discussion between us would be pretty much pointless. My arguments about how Brexit will harm your country and your countrymen will be pretty much useless because they don't affect you personally and individually.

Ignorant and proud. Sums up brexit pretty well.

Agreed.

It seems like nobody wants to take leadership after Brexit vote. It's going to be a shit position with lots of turbulence ahead. Nobody will remember you fondly for the time you're in office.

Two weeks later and people still crying because their globalist daddies lost the popular vote.

"You ruined everything!!!!!"

Cry harder

As far a political campaigns go, the brexit campaign did very well. They were able to get people to vote based on emotions rather than a political and economical realities.
Some regions within the UK, specially in Wales that got 100 of millions of $ from the EU for developments and they still voted leave 60%+. They saw the positive effect of the EU everyday and still voted out.

Confirmed what we already know. People are fucking stupid.

When you ask where the plan is, the silence is deafening. The situation would be laughable if it wasn't so serious. The UK will likely break up, bringing an end to one of the longest standing political unions and functional liberal democracies in the name of petty nationalism.

Nobody is any better off. We are less free, we have no more control of our own laws than we did, we are in the midst of a constitutional crisis, of which I can't think of an equivalent of in the modem political west - no country has ever embarked on a legal path that would lead to its own breakup, by popular vote.

All that needed to happen was the electorate to vote in a govt with a clear mandate to leave the EU. Instead cameron had effectively destroyed the only political arrangement the UK has had for hundreds of years, in the name of preserving his party.

Complete disgrace. Embarrassing.

The average pleb is ignorant or has a very basic knowledge of how a modern economy works, and it was very unwise and wreckless to let the plebs have a say in such a an important matter that they know so little about.

Sometimes people are too stupid to know whats good for them, and this is one of those cases.
Look at the EU-Canada trade negotiations; its 7 years in the making and still not close to finish.
It would take Britain decades to renegotiate trade deals with over 80 countries, and you can bet your ass that they wont get the same sweet deal as when they were an EU member....i highly doubt that Alan from Sussex who voted brexit knows about that.

Quitting the EU wont get them rid of the muslim immigrants and it can potentially fuck them economically big time...and on top of that, when UK will no longer be an EU member, France will feel less motivated to keep the immigrants on their side of border at Calais.

Only a German wants to piss away freedoms and give gov controls of their lives, its inherent trait in you. Awesome work with hitler buddy. Maybe the more stupid ones are the ones that want to stay in a more and more totalitarian block empire what ever the fuck you want to call that german led cesspool of stupidity. Ignorant or not all should defend their freedom to the death and not piss away their right to a unelected totalitarian ruling body. but i get why germans prefer to be treated and ordered around like dogs, hiter did a great job taking advantage of that.

Ill take em a few years to hammer out deals with the most important players, 70 of the others are very irrelevant.

Having control of their borders will stop the rapefugess, if they have the balls to stop em that is.
