Breaking News Jiri needs to wrestle more in the rematch

He was coming back from one yes. It's true that we havent seen him one shot people like has before, now that I think about it.
He reportedly had staph infection and his arm wasn't fully healed yet. He also accepted this short notice fight when he was recording advertisments on Iceland. So he had aswell only one week of full preparation for #1 fight. + It was fight after 16 months. - Jiri never really mentioned this outside of CZ.

Sadly some members of his media team said before first fight that Jiri is in best form of his life...they are not in Vegas with him this time.

I think he looked good but I did notice he didnt seem to land with the authority he would land on Oezdemir or even Glover. He really blasted Glover, who amazingly could take it. It seemed like he was hitting them harder. Idk. Just the way it seemed to me.

Even against Rakic,it was the same. He swarmed him and beat the crap out of him but he didnt hit him with the one hit quitter either
Could be the injuries his coach was talking about

If true a one week training camp coming back after one of the worst shoulder injuries is pretty brutal

That being said, can we really believe even now he's fully recovered from that injury? Or if he can ever? Don't want another Tony situation

Yeah it remains to be seen man. He seemed really up for it though. The word is he immediatley agreed to this one.

theres a reason these guys doesnt wrestle
because its hard
they might just bang for 5 rounds

than wrestle for 1 round

Jiri had/have one of best specialists in the world for surgery and treatment - no exaggeration. His doctor for example recently saved Pastrnak's hip - without surgery which he was already booked on by Boston Bruins staff.

If someone could save Jiri's arm than it was Pavel Kolar. Like assumptions were that Jiri will be able to get back into training after 12 months. He started to lift and train full mobility just after 4 months...4 months. It should be stronger than ever right now which means that Jiri should be absolute save from re-injury.

With Alex coming into this fight with no preparation, putting the belt on the line to save the company’s face after Conor’s fuck up, I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if there is an instant rematch clause in the contract in case of Jiri’s victory. Getting Alex - Jiri 3 would make Ankalaev lose his shit and I’d be laughing my ass off.

Both fighters have shown they can finish the other on the feet, a lot of this fight just comes down to chance..

Power and speed.

Alex is pretty resilient with his anti-grappling. I think you have to be a real wrestler that knows how to grind decisions to really beat him. You can probably use it to win a round or 2, but if you're not conditioned then he's going to find the KO after you're gassed out. Jiri just needs to try and control and land bombs and not hesitate, let the result be what it is. If he pauses like against Rakic, he's going to get legs chewed up and then KO''d.

I think people underestimate how good Alex's defense is. Most people equate good grappling with good offensive grappling skills.

Alex had Jan on his back for 4:50 of the first round of their fight. Jan was never close to a submission. Jan probably blew his load maintaining that position and in the final 2 rounds Alex pieced him up very decisively on the feet, doing almost all the damage.

We’ll see how Jan fairs on the ground now that he had a full camp

I think if he does land the TD he should do much better this time around
