Jiri is who he is as a fighter. He is 32 and has almost 40 pro fights and has had a lot of success given his limitations as a fighter and his defense which basically consist of blocking punches with his face. I really hope he makes a lot of money and is set up for the future, he deserves it.

I would have liked to see him fight Poatan before he destroyed his shoulder. He's never fully recovered from that, and it probably limits him when grappling immensely. Oh well, part of the game.

It's a different type of defense; A flamboyant confidence in ones self belief, masked as arrogance to the opponent. Forces them to engage, for engaging when your opponent is defensively vulnerable, is what these fighters have been instinctively trained to do. Jiri anticipates this and masters navigating these circumstances he creates for him self via his "choice of defense". As long as Jiri can expect what they will do as he leaves himself open, he can capitalize on the attack.


He's a different type of fighter. It REALLY bugs me that everyone wants him to become some ATT wrestleboxer.

Problem is he's no prime Silva on his reflexes. He thinks he's prime Anderson, but he's trying to fight like prime Roy Nelson. Not shitting on the guy, almost everyone want him doing good. Especially if its another title run.
