Well, you can't really take records at face value. You got guys like Volk who are 2-3 in last five and he just smoked the #1 guy in Lopes. A guy like Costa was 1-4 and he smoked his last opponent and looked great, you had Petr Yan go 1-4 and now he's on a 3 fight win streak and all ranked wins.

Olivera has 3 losses but context is 2 champions in Topuira and Islam, #1 and #2 P4P and a split decision to Arman. And his wins have been dominant.

And I don't think he looked bad at all vs Topuira, he just got blasted by a faster power puncher. He looked very good the early going. Ilia is the type of guy that you just cant get hit by lol.

This is as tailored of a match up for Olivera as it gets style wise. A guy with decent striking but not much of a KO threat that will be aggressive with his ground game and leave openings. And taking the fight on short notice. It plays just right into his Olivera's strengths. Let's see if he can caplitlize on those openings.

So glad to see such a dominant performance from Charles Oliveira. I had predicted a 2nd round KO/TKO for Charles so close enough.

The guy is an incredible MMA guy all around. The way he walked around with Gamrot asking for the crowd to cheer from Gamrot, was truly something special. Guy has a heart of gold. Wish more people were like him.
