BJJ Practitioners do you have a problem with how this ended?

Better pic. Video linked below. Timestamp in the pic, it's about 31 minutes in. Bear in mind, this is someone from within his own association. Kid is definitely nasty. Wow.

I’d actually be rooting for Paul Harris in this match.

Yeah, technically he's not doing anything illegal but the way he finishes then jumps up to celebrate while ignoring his screaming opponents comes off pretty douchey. In the vid, fucking lol at fixing his hair before going for the inside shoulder lock and then chaining to the finish. Greg Jackson needs to tell him to check on his opponent and make some fans.

Ironically his being so young with no regard for his opponents might be making him more effective. Probably a nightmare of a training partner though. Hard to want to root for this kid.

A. its a 16 year old kid
B. its a PROFESSIONAL (NOT AMMY) combat sport
C. the guy had time to tap, multiple times over-tap when you get to the position, tap when you lose control of a hand, tap when you lose control of both hands, tap when he locks his hands, finally comes the break

16 is old enough to know better if you're being coached properly

know better than what? why didnt the guy tap and instead just let his leg break? how come no one is on here bitching at him having such shitty defense and then such shitty knowledge to not tap when he was caught dead to rights? i dont know anything about either of these competitors and this is the first time im seeing the 10P in house vid, but that most recent vid he is completely fine-he caught the guy, the guy didnt tap-multiple times over he didnt tap-then he got his leg broken

He never had the opportunity to tap. He went from not in a submission to crippled in a millisecond. Just having the heel doesn't equal tapping,

Yes that is the reason. It wasn't for the subs, it's for him always holding on after the the tap. Guy seemed legit crazy. He always had a lost look on his face after holding on to the submissions and the ref literally having to pull him off over and over again like he didn't understand what he was doing wrong. There was some where he would make extra facial expressions while the ref was trying to pull him off. Dude isn't right in the head.
Spot on with that observation

Holy shit they went from laughing to crippling in a split second. Definitely would pass on rolling with that kid lmao

I get the whole "it's a competition" thing but damn. He's young, hopefully with some time and maturity he will learn how to know when he needs to do that and when he doesn't.

His whole game appears to be cranking heel hooks, flailing, spazzing and using his enormous weight advantage

I think he looks pretty controlled and methodical here. Weight advantage is real though. This vid paints him in a better light - even the guy he cranks on is shown standing up on his own power afterwards. Also win over Quentin Rosenzweig is super impressive.

It's a fight not a tickling contest
I received a bad fracture of my lower orbital/left eye that required surgery and I still have some double vision 15 years later. I had to quit kickboxing

The guy I fought lived locally, came to my door days after surgery to apologise. I appreciated the gesture but told him he had no reason to be sorry. It was a fight under sporting rules and injuries happen. It was shit, But it happens

However, I do think the fat kid with the girly hair should have showed a little concern. He won't like it when it's his turn to get his shit snapped up

They're all 10th planet guys so maybe they have insane external rotation flexibility so the cranking is a necessity

Lol. For sure anyone in my gym would be pissed if someone cranked on them that fast, but we only have a handful of truly skilled leglock guys. But I think the kid deserves a little bit of a pass in the OP vid because it was a major tournament with $50K on the line.

Yeah his dad probably threatened to withhold food if he didn't win the finals

Lol I'm with you, the kid comes off kind of douchey. But a lot of his own guys seem to be OK with him. FWIW a former 10P guy at my gym thought the EBI sub was fair play given the stakes. Even still, no way I'd roll with that kid.

I mean if you've got a stud on your team you kind of just smile and take your ass whooping in training
