BETA Academy owner explains ending relationship with Lloyd Irvin

The whole LI seminar structure seems like the Rich Dad Poor Dad seminar scheme.

Also, why would Nak pay back money to people who attended a seminar put on by Irvin? He spoke at the seminars. Maybe Lloyd paid him, but I'm sure most of the seminar profit would have gone to Lloyd.

If telling the truth is shitting on someone, I would like to tell society to shit away.

Ok,

The main draw of Irvin, and it's a LEGITMATE one, is that he's a highly accomplished player in his game. People are buying the privilege of being able to attach their name to his.

Just that now, Irvin's name is cancer. Detaching from Irvin is certainly the wise business move. But detaching and then shit and piss on the man's head, damn. This is where Irvin really finds out who his real friends are.

Then I wish Irvin good luck on his business because if it was as nice and innocent as you explained, he would have no probem at all.

Until you realised that he does not have any friends or any students, for him anyone is potential to increase his income.

People dont buy the privilege to being able to attach their name to his, they believe that he can make them millionaires!

Then when people split or complain, it is their fault.

"Irvin is certainly used more Bally's Fitness and crap, high pressure tactics and such, I agree. But it's nothing illegal nor immoral."

The high pressure does not stop on the customers but also on the gym owner to participate in his millionaire mma gyms.

How many millionaire gyms has he made again?

It is the fault of the consumers and of the idiots that thought to attach themselves to Irvin name.

LOL

Honestly, who cares who Devnull is. The guy is an idiot. Does his actual identity make him any more or less of an idiot?

I like how some are coming on here saying Nak hasn't done enough by 'only' apologising, when Lloyd Irvin has done sweet fuck all and won't even admit to wrong doing.

Yet Nak's the one who needs to be crucified? Either LI apologists are out in full force, or we've got an influx of dummies. Then again, the two aren't mutually exclusive.

^ holy shit lol. wayback machine indeed

i totally forgot that one of Simco's celebrity endorsers was Shannon the Cannon
one of the worst jobbers in MMA history. probably done tongue in cheek, but good lord

Why should Nak get a pass for finally coming out admitting he was part of a major scam? Why does LI have to apologize first before we can hold Naks feet to fire? Why can't we judge both at the same time, and not be "dummies"?

Do you think Nak did nothing wrong or do you think Nak made up for his wrong doing by writing that letter? Or is it something totally different?

I think the biggest difference between the two is remorse.

I have never seen lloyd show any remorse for anything, ever. Nak admits that he made mistakes. Lloyd has never done that. Lloyd never apologizes for anything or shows any remorse.

So people are understandably easier on Nakapan as he is admitting wrongs and hopes to be better in the future.

That's my opinion at least on why people are willing to give Nakapan more of a pass.

Of course he gets more of a pass, but 100%

There is no doubt Nak has less heat on him than LI for sure. But I'm your opinion, is letter enough? Is his remorse enough to get a free pass?

Not at all. But only time will tell if he follows through. For now, we will have to take him at his word or just speculate.

I haven't seen anything out of Lloyd's camp that would suggest a desire to change - quite the opposite, in fact, judging by the team's behavior on fb and lloyd's videos.

I believe anyone can change though, and to be honest I don't think Lloyd is as evil everyone is making him out to be. Until now, though, I haven't seen many redeeming qualities unfortunately. Time will tell.

if you have to grade someone as good or evil, then lloyd is evil.

I'm too lazy to scroll this far back on his FB page, but maybe a year ago he put up a post on his wall asking people what color his next car should be-- black or white. I think it might have been a Mercedes? It was definitely an ostentatious look-at-my-tacky-nouveau-riche-ass post.

Who does that?

I remember that. He was taking an online poll as to whether he should get a new BMW 750 or a new Range Rover. Obvious hubris and terrible taste. I never gave him a pass for shit like that as it was classless. He didn't do that stuff often but when it did it was obvious attention whoring.

That's not to say that other BJJ instructors haven't done similar things to brag about their academies' success but none were as ostensibly garish. I've seen first-hand some great things about Lloyd and his team. I especially like the social awareness he has for the lower-class community near his academy where a good number of the kids come from. But then I hear things about his business practices with people who have some financial bearing and then I see his self-indulgence and I can't agree with it.

Personally, as bad as his past situation was, he could have done a lot to help save face and take a stand a rape violence given the NYE incident. Instead he's putting more energy into flaunting his material wealth amidst rampant accusations of promoting unethical business practices.
