Basically Callos has ALWAYS disliked lloyd and been jealous of his following from MA school owners, and Nak is sick of watching Lloyd make millions by coaching school owners, he already has a million dollar a year school, so the next level for him is to take money from other school owners..

what points are you referring to? I read it, and a lot of IT is embellished. I help out where I train and they bill with the same billing company as Nak. Nak is the absolute highest grossing school in the entire system! He is lying when he says he isn't making money, he grosses around 7 figures just in billing, let alone retail and everything else. I read it and watched lloyds video.

I'm not a lloyd sympathizer, but lloyd is making way better points, and Nak is not being 100% honest. At least lloyd doesn't try to mask his intentions of only caring about money, lol

There is a huge difference between "gross" and "net." This is very important when you compare overhead costs of schools. I'm certain a school in DC is more expensive to run than a school in PG county. Grossing a million and then using 90% of that to pay rent doesn't mean much. It just sounds cool when you say "I grossed a million." Which is why I'm sure Lloyd told him to use that phrase during presentations.

I never once said I had it hard. In fact, I have it easy. I wake up every day with a clear conscience.

I am a firm believer in buyer beware, meaning the buyer should research all of the issues before agreeing to pay for anything. They need to be held accountable for their decisions. That being said, I understand what the word "hustle" means...outworking others, "out thinking" others, etc. I also understand the other context of the word "hustle" and it is not any good. That might be ok for some in the business world to out think or dupe their opponents, but in the martial arts world we are not competing against one another in our gyms, we are brothers/sisters on the mat and we don't manipulate each other for any reason. I can understand a man wanting to make some money, but at what expense? THIS current BS? I think not.

At the end, it ain't about hustling, it is about honor and integrity. We will agree to disagree Chulo.

Let's just say though, that his overhead is 90% of his 1.6million+ gross income (which I PROMISE you it is not). That would still leave him with a 6 figure PROFIT margin! I know many people that would kill to be able to make an annual profit like that running a martial arts school.

Relisticsally I'm sure his costs are higher than you'd expect with much of that going into lucrative advertising and marketing costs, plus the 40k+ he paid to lloyd every year, but even with all that his cost is not going to be near 90%.

I agree. I know BETA's costs aren't 90% of their gross income. I was just using an extreme example to prove my point.

I just wanted to point out that "gross income" doesn't have nearly as much weight as something like "net income."

Rents, taxes and insurance can be radically different. I am sure that Beta's rent are much higher than any other school in the area. By a lot

Another thing I've noticed is that a lot of TLI supporters, especially Vicki, think everyone is so jealous of Lloyd's money. He's a "millionaire" so people are hatin' on his success. I began training with Lloyd in early 2000. We trained in a battlezone of an environment, one in which you better bring your heart every practice. The amount of quality guys he produced from virtually nothing was simply amazing. I even fought amateur fights under him in the early years. Lloyd was a phenomenal coach and competitor. I also trained with Dalla for a bit. I am forever loyal to Lloyd for molding me into a person who could competently defend himself and his family. However, I am not loyal to a whole bunch of bs and drama.

Life took me in other directions with a family and jobs. I literally took off 8 years of training due to many factors. Flash forward to the fall of 2012. I wanted to get my son into another activity and I felt BJJ would be a great fit for him. I took him to a great gym right down the road from me with an instructor I knew from many years ago. In the process of taking my son down to the gym I got the BJJ fever again and have been training a couple times a week, my busy life permitted.

I was all excited to tell Lloyd that I got back into training again, but then I read all this crap and realized how insignificant my little life was compared to all this bs drama. It is is absolutely ridiculous to see grown men and women speaking to each other in such fashion. It is beneath the code of BJJ and martial arts in general to act in such an infantile fashion.

What the hell has happened to the BJJ I left in 2004?

I don't like to get into the politics of things b/c in the end, it is all BS. But I can tell you this.....my heart hurts for all this crap. I read the posts and especially those facebook screenshots anaconda posted and I am just disgusted. Disgusted. We are talking about supposedly professional people saying, "come make him shut up tough guy" "STFU" "C'mon Son" (over and over until you sound collectively like morons) and many other things that grown people, "professionals", and martial arts "leaders"/associates should not say.

Get your crap straight. Those of you acting in the above manner are an embarrassment to the martial arts community. I would never let my son train anywhere near people who post, "STFU" or a variety of other things on facebook and in other forums. What a joke.

This is BJJ. While it is important to many, it is not and should not be, the be all end all of life. The BJJ, chest puffing peacocks need to get over themselves. Martial arts and BJJ should be about building better people and creating a sense of community.
