News Bellator 273: Bader vs Moldavsky - January 29th 2022

Sure. But I think that's an increasingly low bar. I think the bad fighters are increasingly in quantity. To the point that you could argue, there are always echelons of fighters, but I'd argue there's an entirely new echelon of fighters who only fight other terrible fighters and get past that first contract by say going 50-50 against other fighters in that same echelon. You can think of it as rings, and for example if there used to be 3, I think there are now 4, or something like that.
Well said. Bad fighters have always existed in the UFC for sure, but now there are enough of them that you can stick around for a while by trading wins and losses against other bad guys on early prelims. I think the rise of other promotions who offer more money then the UFC has hurt their overall roster. The UFC can go get whoever they want, no denying that but when they don't go out of their way to sign anybody for anything but their price it opens the door for other shows to snatch them up, which has been happening.

No doubt Cauley will tey to wrestle Big Tuna but Im sure @Ben Big Tuna Parrish noticed Cauley is quiet hittable and will make him pay.
I kinda doubt it. He didn't really try to wrestle in either of his previous fights, actually in the second Clash tried very hard to wrestle him. Evidently he was "two time Arizona Golden Gloves" if I heard the commentary correctly. Which doesn't really mean anything skill-wise as it's one of the least prestigious golden gloves. But it does indicate where his focus is at.

I like the main event. It's a chance for Bellator to get their HW division moving in the right direction. Moldavksy winning would give Bellator a young top HW to build the division around. Rest of the main card is alright. Aiden Lee vs Corrales should be a bang if Henry stands with him. Benson Henderson vs Islam Boredeov will prob suck and Homasi vs boring Willis is a waste of a fight Homasi will get wrestled. Prelims are stacked though. Tuna vs Cauley, Rosta vs Johnson, and Brennan and Mikhailov are back. Should be a solid night of fights.

There is a 99.99% probability that Bader and Moldavsky will be better than Gane vs Ngannou. If you told me that on Saturday afternoon, I would not have believed you.

Gane is so overhyped I find it even ridiculous. The dude submitted some C level fighters and is apparently some ground wizard. Many were calling Gane to submit Ngannou or dominate him in the ground. That rolling knee bar "attempt" from turtle was utterly embarrassing. In the next round, he proceeded to just grab an ankle and pull it without controlling Ngannou's knee. If my bjj coach saw me do that shit he would make me pay in training next class. Oh and in the 5th round he got scissor sweeped by a guy who has never grappled before...

Again, Im not saying he is a bad fighter he is just very overhyped because the UFC wanted him as their poster boy. He is also very boring to watch, because he is too cautious.

Here is Ngannou talking about that ridicukous leg lock.

Gane looked like a white belt on the ground, but it's understandable both of them trained MMA less than 10 years. It's just funny that most of the casuals believed Dana they are the best ever LMAO

Benson needs this win against a tough guy
