but you have to understand what he is really syaing. that he is impressed by Khabib and looks up to him. he admits that he is lesser than Khabib in mma and that is saying quite alot since Belal is the ww champ who wrestlefucked everybody in the division. it is aother way of saying 'there are levels to these things and khabib is better than me'.

khabib in his prime could have held the ww title. no doubt in my mind. but he would have been less dominant/invincible than at light weight of course

He trained with a lot of these guys and they think highly of him. I mean shit, if you just won a belt and this retired guy smokes you, you'd probably have a similar reaction.

Plus he's just a really good coach. When someone is that much if a help to you, you want to speak highly of them

His window to being WW champ was really small. He could have caught Woodley at the end of his prime if he didn't fight Dustin. After that, he would have had to go through Usman, which doesn't seem likely to me.



Plus, Belal I'm not sure if Burns lay and praid everyone he fought. Didn't he stand against Burns? I didn't bother to watch that fight when I read Burns had one arm lol.

Belal obviously has some of the best wrestling, but I'm not sure if he's GSPing or Khabibing everyone. Most of the guys he fought were kind of past it. Great game plan against Leon in the rematch though.

I agree, and that's assuming he's given an automatic title shot (which he prob would get given his name). He could probably take Belal.

If Khabib had to fight his way up WW, or like fight the #1 contender like Shavkat, I don't think it looks great for him. Especially since he has to shake off rust.

How can you say this when Belal JUST finished training with him for his most recent title win and said clearly that Khabib was “throwing him around and toying with him”.

Belal really has no reason to lie - he may have exaggerated while telling the story by saying “any weight class”. Clearly he’s not meaning heavyweight.

I believe Khabib can hold his own at lightweight, welterweight and middleweight.

Training is not fighting, they all always exaggerate what happens there, he is almost 36, LW is still in very similar state to when he left, Tsarukyan isnt exactly big and the guy is primarily a wrestler (i believe), Khabib would still beat him, Islam would be a great fight, WW i think he has no real shot, Belal maybe.

You're saying this as if FIGHTERS - actual people who fight for a living - do not understand this concept.

They do and still make these statements not because they are confused and don't know the difference between training and fighting.

I think Belal was exaggerating in "any weight class", but I think he was serious about Khabib's skill level compared to active UFC roster in multiple weight classes.

WW i think he has no real shot, Belal maybe.
