The problem with this logic is that most people don't understand what "Free Palestine" means.

It means genocide. That's what it means.

The Palestinians have been offered their own state multiple times and rejected it, because (by their own admission) their "Free Palestine" vision is 100% of the land of Israel, the destruction of the Israeli state, and the murder or exile of all the Israeli people on "their land".

That's the problem here that no one wants to acknowledge. I'd be 100% behind a "Free Palestine" state if they would drop the genocide from their stated goals. And this is one of those reasons why MMA and Politics are inseparable.

I have always been more sympathetic to the Palestinian cause, but honestly it's because I didn't know anything about the conflict. The more I learned, the more I actually shifted over to the Israeli side.

Now that obviously doesn't mean I'm happy to see the horrific loss of life in Gaza, but I realized the mistake I was making all those years was thinking that dealing with the Palestinian leadership, was dealing with a rational actor...

And it was surprising to learn that the neighboring Arab nations also had major issues when dealing with the Palestinians, and that the currently disputed lands were under Jordan and Egypt at one time, and they literally wouldn't take those lands back in you paid them...it's a very tough situation, unlike the vast majority of casual Americans seem to now feel about it.

Not to even mention that Hamas leadership is financially incentivized to keep the conflict going, as they have diverted international aid to become literal billionaires, and any of that money that actually gets spent goes to more weapons for eternal war. It's extremely cynical to think of their strategy of sacrificing their population for wealth and power. But sadly they're not the first to do this in history and they won't be the last.

I wish it were as simple as I previously thought: "just do a 2 state solution bro"

Israel drops pamphlets on the area to let them know to get out because they're fire bombing them.

The US incinerate 10's of thousands of children in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, neither of which where military targets.

The UK firebombed Dresden which was a museum city with no military targets.

I have two thoughts that might look contradictory but are not
1) I'm not a fan of any American fighter walking out with a flag from another country
2) If other fighters are allowed to walk out with Israeli, Mexican, British or Brazilian flags, Belal should be able to walk out with a Palestinian flag.

What a head trip it must have been for Belal to have his flag taken down just before he had to fight Leon for the the strap.

I know he gets a lot of shit around here, but in a game were it seems like there aren't too many of them, he comes across as a real solid guy.
