I don't think he cuts that much, relative to the divisional weight but yeah, pretty low risk unless they do a double switch again and give him someone he's not expectingThat's what I think too, and I assume Aspinall gets paid something for this, plus he doesn't need to cut either, perfect situation for Tom in some ways

Jon didn't take Chael Sonnen on short notice...Well duh no surprise here. I low key hope stipe pulls out so we get Jones vs tom
He's the HW champion, hard or not its his job. Tom will have to do the same and so would Stipe. You can't see how trying to prep for 2 different fighters, their strengths, weaknesses, etc, might be a little more problematic than one?
That is obtuse as hell, whether it's Jones or anyone else.
No one doubts Jon Jones more than Jon Jones himself.Jon didn't take Chael Sonnen on short notice...
And no mma fighter has ever excelled as much in his natural fighting spirit as Jones. No one doubts Jon Jones more than Jon Jones himself.
The only person on earth who thought Jon Jones needed three years to move up to HW was Jon Jones. Everyone else thought he could move up on three months notice and would be the favorite against pretty much anyone he fought. And no mma fighter has ever excelled as much in his natural fighting spirit as Jones.
The greatest mma fighter that has ever lived!
And a total piece of shit. We will just have to die of old age with that most likely.

This isn't the first time I've said this so I'm not coming from a bias of wanting Aspinall to win. And not having time to gameplan is not the same as coming in out of shape. Always be ready. Always be training your deficits. What about when it comes to tournaments or one week replacements or something? Fighters don't have 4 months to study one opponent and develop a highly specific plan. This isn't a three-way triple threat match. The backup fighter shouldn't have the same luxuries or advantages as the two official fighters. The back up fighter should be thankful if the opportunity even presents itself to begin with.
Now gameplanning is bad? How about they don't train at all and just go into the cage out of shape so we can see who the real best fighter is? This reminds me of when everyone wanted to legalize knees to a downed opponent because of Aljamain Sterling, then you never heard of it again after the second fight. Changing the rules because you want one fighter to lose isn't worth it.
You favor Stipe against Jones? I'm not counting Stipe out but my guess is Jones is the favorite. Maybe only a slight favorite but the favorite nonetheless.Who's everyone else?
Let's settle down a little. Jones has won 1 fight at heavyweight against a non grappler. He won't get by Stipe.
I disagree. It is the same. It is being ready. And it is training your deficits. This isn't the first time I've said this so I'm not coming from a bias of wanting Aspinall to win. And sherbros put him in their list of the "BMF" fighters? he ain't no BMF.As if that matters. If somehow Stipe pulls out Jon will refuse to fight him.
