Street Fighter is 2D combat. Tekken is 2D with some 3D combat because of its sidestep functionality. True 3D combat would be that Dragon Ball Z game that came out two(?) years ago. Souls uses only the X and Y plane for its combat in a 3D generated world.

Combat in a 3D environment is using all three planes. Hence the 3D lol. You are snapped to a grid like a fighting game.

There’s more verticality in this if you choose to play that way, if that’s what you mean. Even in games like Kakarot, the combat is still largely playing out on an X/Y plane. You can just zoom up and down.

Closest thing to what you’re talking about would be a flight combat game and this plays nothing like that.

I've been using the melander legs, I used the tank tracks to take on Balteus along with two of those machine guns and dual plasma cannons. I couldn't beat him with my regular build, kept getting wrecked.

Well off game studios regularly use other IP's to understand foreign game mechanic hierarchies. For then they have a better grasp on how to incorporate them into their higher profile Triple A IP's.

Really digging my lightweight build now. Super agile, rolling with a shotgun and plasma sword with long range pincer missiles and a burst rifle for distance. My goal is to dance inside and punish with the shotgun and blade but I’m not worthless at distance. By far my favorite way to play. Chugging along in chapter three without any major roadblocks.

Love the arena fights, one of my favorite aspects. Gives a great understanding of what other AC builds can do.

Just started the game, just beat Juggernaut.

Haven't really messed around too much with different builds so far. I think the game is insanely fun and cool, though I feel like the difficulty is a bit all over the place. Ordinary missions feel often really short and pointless. The big carrier one and the juggernaut one were awesome. Hopefully that's the standard and not the tiny ones that came before.

I'm using the laser pulse rifle, pulse sword you start with, two 4-missile sets on shoulders.
