Multiplat Armored Core VI

I’m 40+ on it and in the same exact boat. Totally obsessed with it. The skill progression is real, I feel like a goddamn ninja (speaking of Sekiro) slicing through mechs now but knowing that if I fuck up, I’m usually cooked.

It is looking like this sort of posture/stagger bar based combat is becoming FromSoft's new jam and I love it. Really puts you on the edge of your seat and makes you get creative with the game mechanics to achieve a win. Before this and Sekiro, the only game that gave me a similar feeling of skill progression was God Hand. I really wish more games like these would get made!

You should try Sifu if you haven't yet.

Oh man, that's been on my Steam wishlist for so long. You are right, I really do! The aging mechanic seems really interesting and on of my favorite gamers on YouTube, Ongbal, seemed to like it and posted some cool stuff of him doing hitless boss fights and such (admittedly, I had no clue what was going on since I don't know the mechanics). I think I am going to play it once I decide to take a break from AC6 haha

Ongbal is my favorite YouTube gamer to watch. From Sekiro to Elden Ring and Sifu and now AC6, he's been KILLING it.

Picked up the guide, releases in November. Can’t remember the last time I got a guide but these are supposed to be super high quality and filled with art and lore.

Indeed, I think I brought future press up in another thread about Elden ring. Great books, might have to get this too. Usually their preorders are cheap. Got each Elden ring book for 25 dollars

You did lol. Preorder price is only like $30, really good deal for a hardcover.

NG+ is introducing so many new missions and sprinkling in some new bosses. Definitely a game made to be replayed but done extremely well.

Cant stop, won’t stop with photo mode

I think I got the bad ending lmao

Was the final boss
a particular person in your head
or
a particular person who shares a name with the Breaking Bad protagonist
?

NG+ is awesome. Feels like a new game. Going with a glass cannon build since I mostly tanked my way through the first playthrough.

This helicopter escort mission is tough

For the more experienced players in here: Should I go back and replay missions for new parts I missed? Are any worth it?

Really hard to say. I don’t venture past my usual build very often but I’m always looking for more parts to unlock.

So glad to be back. This was one of my favorite new missions.

Very cool surprises.

I'm currently at the mission: Chapter 5 - Take The Uninhabited Floating City. Failed a couple times because I can tell my AC is too slow. Maybe I should look up some faster builds.

Edit: Did it the very next try then chose between two missions
I killed Carla
and completed it. I assume I'm near the end of the game now.

So apparently Balteus got nerfed in the latest patch?

I'm on Chapter III, just beat the first mission, and cleared the D-rank Arena fights. The game is sure getting pretty damn hard, even with Songbirds and Gatling guns, after rocking a balanced plasma blade/ verticle missle duo, and laser cannon balanced combo.

I'm starting to feel that the heavier builds (tetrapod, tank...) are generally more viable for bosses than lighter builds, since you usually are required to dish out massive dps and heavy weaponry. Since Balteus I haven't beaten a boss with a lighter build, but would like to try one, since I really love the blazing dash motion and evasion. All bosses in Ch 2 required tetrapod, as did the final mob/ship sequence in the first chapter of Ch 3 (which was very hard). Maybe this will change in the short term. I'm not using my extensions-shields properly.

It's an amazing game. I just wish the difficulty was a bit more balanced. The missions are very easy, while the boss fights are extremely hard. I like the idea of feeling like a badass for a wee and then facing a challenge, but a middle ground inbetween would be welcome. Not a big fan of the storytelling style on this one either, but I tend to get into the story later with From games anyway.

Balteus so far is my favorite fight. One of From's great boss fights imo, for the ages. Amazing soundtrack.

The game is absolutely stellar.
