I'd rather see Erin Blanchfield (who Manon ran from and stalled against to an uneventful decision win) get the title shot as she poses a more interesting stylistic challenge to Shevchenko and has a much better chance at winning and she's coming off of a more impressive win over Rose

Even Mackenzie Dern moving up would be a more interesting/harder for Shevchenko than Manon lol

There is no meritocracy in the UFC, and the rankings are literally meaningless. They only care about more people paying, and will make moves that they think will facilitate that.

I don't see why Fiorot can't get her shot in April or May (2-3 months) & then Zhang get the winner.

I mean a quick turnaround for Zhang is like 8-9 months. Not exactly the most active champion we've ever seen.

Definitely give Manon her shot. Valentina should be due to defend pretty soon then Weili could get her shot towards the end of the year. Not like Weili is super active, she fights like once a year anyways.

Personally, I think Manon should get her shot and Weili can either defend her belt or wait for the winner. The problem here is that UFC wants to make Weili vs Valentina while it's on the table and not risk losing that fight by Valentina losing the belt. Merit and profit are at a bit of a crossroads here.

I'm going to go ahead and add that at the post fight presser Dana said Weili and her team were waiting to talk to him and that Dana said whatever they asked for he was most likely going to say yes too.

Weili doesn't have anyone to fight outside of Virna. They will probably skip Manon to make that Weili fight if Valentina agrees to it.

Zhang and Valentina are on the older side. They are about to age out anytime now. They should make the match for high stakes. We usually get these highly anticipated showdowns but I don't like it when they are both on the decline.

Alright Sherbums, I gotta ask—why is nobody talking about Manon Fiorot right now? After Weili’s war, everyone is calling for her to move up and fight Valentina, but like… what about Manon? She’s literally been waiting over a year for her title shot after winning a clear-cut #1 contender fight against Blanchfield. She’s undefeated in the UFC, on a six-fight win streak, and yet it feels like all the pieces are in place for the UFC to screw her over.

I get that a champ vs. champ fight would be cool, but are we really just okay with Manon getting skipped like this? She put in the work, she earned her shot, and now she might get left in the dust just because the UFC wants to make a bigger fight? I feel like if this were any other division, people would be way more upset about this.

Am I the only one who thinks she actually deserves her chance to fight for the belt? Or are we all just cool with her getting sidelined?

How about Manon vs Valentina in April and the winner fights Weili in the fall (November?). Manon deserves the shot and so does Weili. I think it would be better to give Manon a crack at the title before the potential superfight.

Manon isn't an easy fight for Valentina. I don't think they will make Manon vs Zhang.

They should have made Virna vs Tatiana as a title eliminatior in the first place, or just give Virna the last title fight. Tatiana had no business fighting for the title after years of sickness leave.

And it also should have been Manon getting the shot already months ago. When there really are no contenders in the weight class, then it’s the only time for a champ/ champ fight.

I agree. That's why I called it a potential superfight. I expect it to be a very competitive fight. I think Manon has a chance to take it.
