JDM struggled against Burns for 3 rounds and had trouble putting him away.
Morales didn't even break a sweat and finished Burns early in the 1st round.

No he's not technical at all. He runs around the ring like a WWE wrestler.

But his range is diabolical. Once he measures his opponents he just connects on every fucking shot. I would guess you want to stay active and make him move and do dumb sloppy shit.

If the contender series didn't exist, what do you propose instead? Every fighter who would have been signed to the contender series instead gets signed to the UFC directly? I thought the UFC already had too many cards?

Or should the UFC use the power of magic to only sign fighters that they know in the future are going to be successful, like Morales?

The fact is nobody knows who is going to be successful in advance. Morales was the underdog on his contender series fight. He was on absolutely nobody's radar, and never would have been signed to the UFC but for the contender series.

He is a smart measured fighter with a lot of skill.
His entries and striking angles are a thing of beauty and anyone trying to "walk thru" that would be a fool.
