Anyone see Weidmans latest ig off?

If I’m reading this correctly it looks like weidman and his team rushed it and now he has another butterfly fracture on his fibula instead of just on his tibia. (Which never healed/possibly got worse) Not sure if he was gonna have to get another surgery in the future anyway but it seems like those rehab guys made it a 100% guarantee he has to now. I remember Anderson only had 1 surgery and he definitely wasn’t walking after a couple of weeks.

Look at the dudes fractures with the rod in. Going to those guys and rushing the training and walking was a huge mistake. If you look at the second picture it’s clear he has huge fractures on BOTH sides of the rod.

EDIT: if mods see this can you change the title from “off” to “post” lol

Please see my comments. I am not sure who is telling Weidman these things, but I very much do not agree with the sensationalist aspects of it

Orthopedic Surgeon Here. Let's review
(I did not see the original xrays so I am only commenting on these)

1.) Buttterfly fragment- so what. Some studies have shown a decrease in healing with those fractures initially, but he has a nail in. Performing extra surgery to remove the butterfly fragment is absolutely stupid. It is waaaaay too early in the game to know if he is going on to a non-union (6-9 months is the accepted answer for that), so that sort of conjecture is pointless.

2.) Fibula fracture- a double so what. Big debate whether to fix them at all initially. If he had it before and they didn't fix it, definitely no reason to do it now. If he got it in training, again, so what. The fibula bears very little significant weight of the lower leg. If it's painful to him now, yea then sure, slow down the training. But to go back in and cut him open to fix it, on a non weight bearing bone? No way.

Overall I see very little concerning things here other than he may have pushed it too hard early. But nothing a little rest might not fix. Waaaay to early to even be discussing potential second surgeries.
Other than that, the hardware looks good, and I see nothing too concerning on these few radiographs

Can you at least agree Weidman is a dumbass and should retire?

Personally I feel like it’s the way he celebrated that makes people feel it was Karma.

It's unsettling that this charge won't die after he addressed it. He celebrated when the fight was stopped, then stopped celebrating and went over to check on Silva as soon as it became clear that he was injured. Video of the event backs up his account.

Alright Dr. Douchebag. Keep thinking "yea he just needs a little rest" and he's fine.

Nothing concerning at all. Just walk it off bro. I mean I'm sure there was nothing serious at all with Weidman's shoulder, knee, neck etc.

Untill he had to get surgery after surgery after surgery on the same injuries.

Did you read any of my post? He needs to rest and let these things heal. It is way to early to know about non or malunions. I have stated in previous posts I did not agree with his fast rehab.
Are you a surgeon? Do you think we just take people back, put them under general anesthesia, and hack away without good reason?
If you can explain to me why a fibula fracture, or a butterfly fragment on a properly nailed tibia fracture warrants surgery, I would be happy to listen. Go:

The insult is uncalled for and you don't actually address his diagnosis.

Well that’s good news for him then. Obviously everyone was right on telling weidman to slow down and ease up. But hopefully he doesn’t need a future surgery. But I’m highly skeptical that it’s sensationalist. Shit looks pretty bad lol. and they’re saying ‘probably’ need surgery in the future while you are saying too early to tell. While I’m leaning towards you’re ‘too early’ is gonna turn into a ‘probably needs surgery’ in the future too. Even if you think you can’t tell if there are mal or nonunions yet

It's also something he regrets hugely, said it a couple of times now and the video backs it up, he's not a bad guy, done/said some silly things in the past but he's essentially a solid bloke.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe everybody has heard him addressing it and they don't believe him? You don't deserve the benefit of the doubt after admitting that during that time you signed autographs on photos of Silva's snapped leg and mocked the injury by posing lowkick checks for pictures.

He didn't care. Now he does because his self-absorbed ass got a taste of his own medicine, but it's too late. Karma already got to him.

Yet i seem to remember he recently gave a narrative of the event that was incongruous with what actually happened.

Yeah. He was young, kind of a douche, and didn’t gaf about Silva. Definitely felt like some kind of karmic justice for how he handled destroying Silva’s leg, although Silva was equally douchey and bad at the time, probably more of the bad guy to Weidman in the eyes of the public. But it was more of a competitive thing.

Both Weidman and Silva have definitely matured. And maybe weidman did need his own leg to break to fully understand what Silva went through and how disrespectful The Chris handled it

It seems almost like he had to get all tough guy on social media because he was a embarrassed by the whole ordeal and was trying to act like it's no big deal. I have no clue of course what he was thinking, it was just weird.

Nobody cares that you didn't like how he celebrated after Silva's leg injury, you gotta stop embarrassing yourself. Weidman like every fighter, had everything on the line in that fight. His family's future financially, emotionally, his legacy, his health. If he knocked Silva out and celebrated you wouldn't care lol.

I've had a bad leg bone break, and it is awful. The pain is difficult to deal with, and after awhile, you just want to push back against it. The muscles atrophy, and ligaments tighten up. The screws and plates tear against soft tissue. There are different kinds of pain I never knew existed. I can definitely see a competitive person pushing it and re-injuring. I have done this with injuries myself, simply because one has to keep living and must push through the pain to survive. I am sure he is doped up, as well. This might be why he did not feel himself doing new damage. I wouldn't wish this kind of injury on anyone. I hope Weedman hetires and finds something positive to do with his time. He shouldn't ever fight again, imo.

He needs Fabia in his life to take care of him.

lmao you sound so envious that the other guy is a surgeon and you are nothing

You'll believe anything anybody tells you online, child. You don't have the self-awareness to notice someone obviously conning you. You're probably on the spectrum. How do I know? I'm a licensed Pediatric Neurologist. You believe me, right? Because I just told you I am.
