do you expect the fibula fracture to ultimately fix? To me it looks (from the 2nd pic) substantially displaced still (upper part displaced towards the outside of the leg) and I don't see how the fibula will fix when it's in such a displaced position. I understand your point that the fibula bears very little weight but If that doesn't fix that will always be *very* susceptible to future re-injury i'd think.He can weight bearing and do some walking and regular PT. But it seems he’s over doing it. Big caveat is that these are purely suggestions based on minimal clinical knowledge of his situation and seeing only a few X-rays. Not at all a diagnosis or recommendation
I don't know how or why this guy Weidman is clinging onto some hope of fighting again. He had been on a downward spiral for a long time, and with this leg injury and his neck vertebrae fusion.....it's time for him to pull the plug. I hope those around him ARE going to try very hard to persuade him to retire. If he needs that "hope" to push through his recovery, OK I get that, but ultimately him fighting again is a very bad idea indeed with these multiple injuries.
