News Anthony Pettis leaves the UFC

Bellator already signed Romero, Rumble, Machida, Davis, Mittrione, Fedor.... They don't have deep pockets like the UFC does. At some point, they can't afford all the UFC's cuts. My gut feeling says that's now. I think they broke the bank for Romero and Rumble, and what value does Pettis add above them?

Pettis is probably a bigger draw than Romero to be honest. If he's really going back to LW then Bellator's LW division isn't very good, so it could certainly use someone like Pettis.

Damn, well I'll just watch him in another organization. Atleast he was able to end his UFC career with a win, expecting many more from Pettis outside the UFC.

One of the toughest mf'ers out there, I watched this guy from the very beginning. One of the most underrated chins in UFC history, wishing him all the best!

Good for him. I would love to see him against Daley & MVP in Bellator, but the PFL 155 tourney could be his for the taking. Or even the 170 tournament, maybe fight Rory at some point.

If he goes to Bellator at 155 he could fight the Pitbull brothers. Beat the worse one, then let the other come up after he wins the 145 tourney.
He wouldn't beat either pittbull

Best of luck to Anthony, good that he's going to continue fighting.

I've always wondered how different his UFC record would have looked if he'd stayed at LW:

- dropped to FW and went 1-1 beating Oliveira but losing to Max
- went 3-1 overall at WW, losing only to Diaz

Not bad going really, so would his record have been better or worse if he'd kept fighting at 155?

That sounds like it isn’t remotely true... Pettis was on the prelims last card, Homero is a much bigger draw any year after 2017

That was the last fight on his contract though, I think they did that intentionally, goes out on a mid level prelim fight against a no name.

Picture being poor, and eating the generic Wheaties because you can't afford the brand name.
Fast forward a decade or so, and you are ON the Wheaties box.

That is what chasing dreams can get you.
Imagine eating McDonald’s breakfast 4 days a week and posting on Sherdog - welcome to my life!!

Hoping he joins his brother in Bellator. Would be fun to see them fighting on the same card.

Big name but he was over the hill (and had been figured out for years).

I really like him in Bellator tho.

Ughh they have Viacom backing them

Good exit... Rare in the UFC

Surprised the red goof did not throw Pettia under the bus to diminish his value

Was gonna be the man but Clay fucked that up. Not champ material anymore, good move.

Big fan of Anthony, great person and fantastic fighter. Wish him luck in whatever org he goes to

UFC is losing so many top 10 fighters and ex champs nowadays, I wouldn't wonder if they release Izzy, Figgy and Stipe next.
