News Anthony Pettis leaves the UFC

That's fine. If you realize you no longer have it, it's better to move on.

Best of luck wherever.

Honestly saw this one coming. He's the embodiment of that legacy fighter they have to pay a lot but who'll never contend for titles or headline cards again.

Best wishes though.
He did headline twice last year, but overall your point still stands. But hey, if he goes to Bellator he and Sergio can headline cards together there!

Could not care less.
Cue “why did you reply to this thread then?” Response.

Is anyone actually disappointed in this? I would skip his fights.

Yeah there are hundreds of devastated fans who thought they were going to see their favorite fighter put a beating on the already beatup Tony Ferguson. He looked great in his last fight if you don't count the first round.

Good riddance Showtime!

Kinda sad to see him leave. He can make some solid money elsewhere though.

Truly exciting fighter who always took the fights he was offered.

Wishing Mr. Pettis the best in his future endeavors.

He's still very good therefore I do not like this decision. It was only around a year and a half ago did he KO Wonder Boy plus he's won his last two fights.

Pettis always seemed soft to me. I love seeing him fight but if he isn't in complete control he seems to just fold which makes for a boring fight.

I can see why he's leaving, he's kind of in no-mans land in the UFC. Not really any chance of getting back into contention at this point and he's on something like 150/150, so I can see why the UFC might have not offered him the same contract given his current position with them. On the flipside he usually delivers entertaining fights and I still think people tune in for him. He's one of my favourite fighters ever anyway, I'll continue to watch him wherever it is he goes.

Did he regress that much , or did it just transpire that higher class pressure fighters with a gas tank and even just decent fighters who use that tactic, reduce his options and make it very hard for him? I think is far more the latter.

He just never really evolved I don't think. I'm not sure he's much worse, but his problem is that there's a clear blueprint out there on how to beat him and he's never figured out a way to stop it happening against someone who can implement that gameplan effectively.

I think he's too loyal to Duke Roufus personally.
