News Ankalaev vs krylov.

Krylov should be cut for his performance against Walker.

Ankalaev please bless this bum division

Krylov has never been finished with strikes standing, and he is a durable and versatile (offensively) fighter. He can get this done.

I'm still taking Ankalaev to be the first one to KO Krylov because I can't see Krylov taking him down easily.

Remember Krylov head kicking and tko'ing Walt Harris in 27 seconds? That was rad.

He manhandled Walker for most of each round?
Just like Khabib and GSP and Usman and....

Ankalaev has been in the UFC for nearly three years as a LHW and has never fought or beaten a ranked opponent. 40% of the division is ranked, he has been cherrypicking opponents and fighting the divisions very worst.

Four of Krylovs last five opponents have been ranked in the top 10.

Walker finished a top 10 opponent 4 months after debuting in the UFC,

Walker & Krylov have both proven 10x more than Ankalaev. The guy should not even be ranked.

well that is why he is getting a ranked opponent now.

He has become the (#11) ranked fighter without fighting a single ranked opponent due to circumstance, not his prowess in the octagon.

He has not fought a ranked opponent because he has not wanted to fight one, he has been finishing guys on their way out of the UFC for nearly three years.

Walker, Cirkunov, and Krylov (all in the top 10) get absolutely no respect on here or anywhere, but Ankalaev is considered 'the dark horse' because he is able to finish 5"8 LHWs on his home soil. Or KO 0-3 LHWs.

Krylov wins a decision over Walker, and is mocked for not being able to finish him. The very next fight Walker is dropped twice in the first round and is still able to knock his #11 (at the time) opponent unconscious before the end of the first round.

Ankalaev may be a worldbeater, but the way he has chosen to go about making his way through the division suggests he is anything but.

Rizin guy can't run forever.

well what I would say is who do you have that you think should be ahead off him in the ranking? I get he hasn’t fought anyone that is ranked yet but that the same time he did ask for Shogun and Anthony Smith last fight. Maybe this is the UFC who is trying to slowly push him to the top.

I remember watching Krylov before he was even in the UFC because there was some buzz about him due to his good record (14-2 before the ufc but never beat a guy with a winning record) and he was just horrible and I was like this guys gonna get washed outta the UFC real quick. He's improved so much and he's one of those always super dangerous guys, kill or be killed that's why he has 2 decisions in 34 fights. Guy is much watch tv, super unpredictable, pulls off upsets and obviously Ankalaev is fun to watch and iirc would be undefeated if he didn't tap to Craig with literally 1 second left in the fight. Fun fight indeed :D

Gotta say Ankalaev but you never know with Krylov.

I thought the same thing but give him loads of credit for how hard he clearly worked to improve instead of letting it damage his ego.

The fight was reasonably close, tied 1-1 going into the third round (on 2 judges scorecards) and Krylov and Walker both were gassed by the start of the third round.

Krylov was dominant in the first round but he lost the second and barely eeked out a decision in the third, fight could have easily gone the other way if Walker had put in a late flurry or combo.

#15 is usually a placeholder spot. Most recently OSP was #15 (as a placeholder, as he did not win to be ranked #15, since Blachowicz becoming champion moved him out of the rankings and opened up another spot).

OSP lost to Jamahal Hill who then became #15 and OSP fell out of the rankings. So I would say Ankalaev should be unranked, just like every single opponent he has beaten, and OSP as the most recent guy to fall out of the rankings should be #15 for now.

Ankalaev is fighting Krylov, so if he wins that fight based on the most recent rankings he would ascend to #8. But if he loses that fight you are going to have a clear situation where #11 or if he falls a spot due the loss #12 has gotten to a spot that is still pole position for contendership by beating the worst fighters the division has to offer.
