Media Ankalaev Instagram story shows bro is definitely planning to wrestlešŸ˜‚

Craig-That late sub when all he had to do was hold position for a dominant decision.
When people say this, you can kind of disregard their opinion on fighting lol

Did GSP have poor fight IQ when he tapped against Hughes?

You can say that Pereira is favored in the stand up and I wouldnā€™t disagree, but to say Ank has ā€œno shotā€ is absurd. Jiri was hitting Alex CLEAN in their first fight and had him hurt several times, Ank is not as powerful as Jiri but heā€™s faster and has better eyes. Make no mistake, he CAN hurt Pereira on the feet and possibly even KO him. Alex doesnā€™t have an iron chin. Another thing to consider is that Alex will be worried about take downs so his striking defense wonā€™t be as sharp and also compromises Alexā€™s kicking game somewhat.
I donā€™t know about hurt several times, that is a little over exaggerated I just watched the fight first fight. The first round, Jiri was pushing the pace but the leg kicks forced Jiri to go for the TD which held Pereira down until the last 30 seconds and he landed a ā€œuppercut.ā€ According to Anik, which didnā€™t look to significant imo. Jiri shots were mainly glancing and Pereira rolled with them.

The 2nd round, only time Jiri had success in striking or ā€œhurt Pereira several timesā€ was when he got wild at 2:55 only to and forced a clinch on the fence until then separated a few seconds later, then he Jiri landed another right hand at 1:05 that led to Jiri to over commit and got hit with the left hook.

Your definition of had him hurt was more of Pereira trying to circle out of Jiriā€™s aggressive wild striking. Overall Periera landed the cleaner shots but Jiri did land strikes. Adesanya had Pereira hurt at the end of the first, that was hurt. What Pereira was against Jiri was him just trying to circle out.

Can Ankalaev win by KO, sure. At the heavier weights everyone carries power, the striking isnā€™t close imo & Ankalaevs wrestling is overrated on this site.

You can say Pereira has the striking advantage and i wouldn't disagree, my only contention is with the claim that Ank has "no shot" in striking. I think thats pretty dumb considering that Alex has been KO'd by Adesanya, and he's been tagged by fighters with worse striking than Ank.

Watch Ank wrestle-fuck Poatan and then we hear the endless crying about "he said he wouldn't wrestle on Instagram!" from all the sad fanboys.

He has no chance striking with Peireira, of course he needs to use his wrestling. Otherwise what's the point?

Goodā€¦

If he wasnā€™t planning on using his grappling, then it would probably be a pretty short night for himā€¦.

I still think he loses though, wrestling or notā€¦

No it has nothing to do with the timing of it. A fighter has no way to know.

GSP vs Hughes 1 had a submission created by Matt Hughes. He landed a takedown on GSP who was outstriking him on the feet. Hughes made an adjustment, took the fight to his strongest area and then landed offence that opened up that sub, with no option to defend.

Ank on the other hand was beating Craig everywhere including the ground because he wasn't hanging out in guard and took dominant positions to attack. He turned his other arm away and punched himself into a triangle for the finish. He chose to put himself there in a fight he was comfortably winning and would have won. His finish was avoidable. Craig basically fell to the ground and Ank put himself there.
