Anderson is 1 win away from a title shot.

Give him Bisbing. If he beats him handily, give him a shot. If he looks tentative, slower and squeaks out a win in non-dominating fashion... Let him fight some other fun, compelling matchups before retirement. With his style, there are lots of exciting fights that can be made.

Yes, absolutely...Silva should fight for the title endlessly, even after two loses. He doesn't even need another win. Immediate rematch again...and again.

Fuck all those other guys in division who are on winning streaks and steamrolling people left and right. Who cares about them...Silva must fight for the title...waaa waaa, lets cry some more

It kinda of is. How many checked leg kicks occur in the UFC? And how many of them have resulted in leg breaks? Only 2 times out of what I'm guessing is thousands of leg checks.

Posted this in another thread...and btw, I wish the break hadn't have happened so Chris could have gotten a more conventional win.

Weidman, who earned his belt with an upset victory in July, also dominated the first round of the rematch, pinning Silva to the mat and punishing him with blows. In the second, Weidman used his knee to stop Silva

Both will be off for a bit so why not Anderson vs GSP.

Than they can retire.

He was intending to hurt the leg, not just check the kick. He didn't realize the damage would be as great as it was.

Exactly. It's like GSP breaking Kos' orbital bone with a stiff jab that he had spent a lot of time working on. Did he expect to break that orbital bone with that punch? Doubt it. Was he trying to hurt and damage Kos' face? Obviously.

It's not a freak accident when the leg check was intentional.
A leg breaking due to checking a leg kick is a freak accident, Weidman was not trying to end the fight thus it's a fluke/freak accident whatever anyone wants to call it.

There is nothing accidental about it. Weidman was absolutely trying to do as much damage as he could to that leg.

I still don't understand how people are using the term "accident" here.

There should be no more Anderson - Weidman fights, unless AS wins his next couple of bouts convincingly, but he's not getting any younger.

Up and comers like Bisping, Mousasi, Jacare, Machida are in the running, I think at this stage most fans would like to see AS matched up with those guys, it'd be more entertaining rather then seeing AS get pummeled by Weidman again.

Call it whatever you want but the fact is when a fighter is checking a leg kick he is not trying to finish the fight he isn't even on offense.

Oh boy if Andy loses to Bisping. Lol

This...

What if Silva's chin really is gone and Bisping KOs him? (And I hate Bisping) talk about legacy ruined!

Last few fights it looks like if anyone taps him it's lights out...

Hey so by the way who actually owns Silvas soul right now? Does he still have it or does Weidman own it the same way Mir has Big Nogs?

Undoubtedly Weidman got Anderson's number. Call it bad luck, bad matchup or Anderson declining but it is a clear case of having someone's number.

Anderson sold his soul to the devil.

Not unless he beats a top contender, otherwise other people deserve a shot too, after Belfort, the winner of Mousasi/Machida should be next, and also Jacare has to be up there.

If Weidman is still then champ Anderson is at least two fights away. If Weidman loses then it's possible Anderson could get a shot with one win, but I still think he'll have to beat someone like Bisping, and then he'll be put in a number one contender fight.

Too many what its in determining when he will get a shot. Depends on who is champ and how many contenders there are.

We know Belfort is fighting Weidman. We know machida/Gegard will move up and you have jacare in there, but after that its a big question mark dependant on who wins those fights. On top of that, injuries happen which makes it even more unpredictable.

Anderson will get a crack at the title immediately if he chooses to do so. He's earned that right.

Everything he did earned him one rematch, but not two. Maybe if there wasn't a backlog of contenders that would be considered, but Machida/Mousasi winner is probably up next and the Jacare/Carmont winner will be one fight away.

If Anderson comes back they'll probably give him a easy fight like Bisping, Rockhold, or maybe even Wanderlei.
