Anderson is 1 win away from a title shot.

I doubt he will ever fully recover. I say 1+ year for him to be ready and that's minimum. At that time he will already be nearly 40, not a good chance of beating Weidman.

Let me start by saying he should leave it at that, what happened last saturday should be a sign that is time to let go.

Now following your thought, we've seen crazier things in the UFC regarding title shots so no, it wouldn't surprise me. Not to mention how the MW scenario would be by the time he'd be able to come back.

Bisping clamored on about a chance to fight Anderson. Give the man what he wants, I say!

He's been knocked out and his leg COMPLETELY broken in half by Weidman.

He needs a tune up.

If he even comes back...he has nothing left to prove.

I think he should just retire. His chin is gone and he's just getting older and older. I'm not sure how much more there is left in him.

Most guys don't even know how to properly check a leg kick, let alone turning their knee in to the kick.

What so Weidman is like the only guy that knows how to check a leg kick? Dude they check leg kicks in MT in every fight and rarely does a leg break. It's not like this was the first kick Chris checked of the night either. I recall seeing at least a few checked kicks. It just has to be a perfect combination. Based on statistics, it is not wrong to say checking leg kicks should not result in a leg break.

definitely, he should get another crack at the title

Assuming that he does come back, i think there's an insanely high chance they finally do the Bisping vs Anderson fight in Manchester.

Anderson will win that fight via vicious KO, and get a shot at Weidman again, (Weidman will beat Belfort, and maybe defend once more vs Mousasi/Machida winner before a third Anderson fight).

you people saying he 'deserves' another immediate crack at the title is whats wrong with ufc

1 Win? Um, how about no and with a "hell no" on top of that...especially if Chris is still champ at that time. Some of you don't realize what an insane rarity it is to see a fighter get an instant rematch for the belt after getting starched....find me an example of this happening in the UFC when the divisions weren't paper thin or the contenders depleted and I'll be impressed. I have a pretty solid memory and I'm drawing cero.

If you want to make a legendary exception for AS because of his unparalleled resume in the organization then so be it but that's where the buck stops.

I think Anderson will move past the title onto superfights personally.

He's always said he won't fight Machida and Jacare and both of those guys are now in the title mix.

Lots of fights that would draw stand out for me..

Shogun
Sonnen 3
Wanderlei
Rashad
Hendo 2
Bisping

I think if he tells Dana he wants a rematch with Weidman he would get it. everyone saw how Dana was right at Silva's side after he broke his leg.

He probably would get an immediate rematch if he wanted it.

He doesn't deserve it though.

I thought he deserved it after his first loss to Weidman because of his accomplishments.

His second loss was more emphatic. He lost to an opponent using a defensive technique. A technique meant to nullify the only offense he was able to muster in their first fight.

So, in reply to the OP, yeah, he probably is one win away from another title loss if that's what he wants when and if he comes back. But, he damn sure doesn't deserve it. He got his rematch. He lost.

As long as Weidman's champ AS should never get another shot. Even if Vitor wins the belt it would take at least 2 wins before he's even in the conversation. At his age he should really hang them up there's really nothing left to prove and nothing to gain for making another run for the title at his age. Like a lot of people I'm interested in seeing AS fight Bisping as that's the last elite fighter of his generation AS hasn't beaten.

10 threads a day isn't enough apparently. Clearly they should fight again. Anderson deserves unlimited back-to-back losses since he had such a long winning streak. Kind of like an opposite day experiment instigated by the Anderson anti-reality cult members here.

Surely everyone would like to see Weidman vs Anderson 3, 4, and 5 with Chris winning them all just so we can get another 100 threads a day of stupid irrational desperate bullshit like we're seeing now.
