Is Dom Reyes 1 Win away from a LHW title shot?

War Dom

Crazy this is a TS elimination fight considering Ulberg has won 8 or 9 in a row compared to Dom's 3, and Dom wasn't even ranked when his resurgence happened.
The UFC LHW division these days is almost as bad as the HW division, and while Reyes isn't the most exciting fighter on the roster, he rarely has fights that are hard to watch unlike several of the other "top" LHWs. That's enough for him to be in the discussion with a win over Ulberg.

Deservedly so, he's a guy I'll admit I completely counted out, thought he would punch himself drunk and retire after those violent, violent losses. Him getting KO'd by Jan and Jiri, whatever, Jan and Jiri are perennial greats, but I completely and totally wrote him off after he got KO'd via a jab against Ryan Spann

Going to be rooting for Dom to make one last run. Win or lose, guy deserves to go out against the best.

Agreed. He got robbed against Jon and Jiri was one of the best fights of 2021 and he almost had Jiri KOd. Jiri even said he went unconscious briefly. Jan was the only fight he was totally outclassed. Then as you said the Spann loss was a horrific loss. Spann doesn't beat primed top 10 opponents and the manner he beat Reyes early minute finish is what he does to washed up and lower level comp. When fighters have a string of losses like that it's usually the end of their careers. Reyes took a year and a half off and completely revitalized his career. Remarkable.

If Alex wins then Reyes would definitely be next, if Ank wins it would be the winner of Jiri vs Khalil.

Hes fighting Carlos Ulberg on September 27... its almost like who ever wins that fight deserves the next title shot, right?

Dominick Reyes with the comeback of the DECADE if he pulls off a fourth W in a row and gets a title shot.
It's only the comeback if he not only wins this but the belt next.

Dom should already have his place in the record books at the first guy to truly beat Jones.
"Maybe"... if it weren't for teh fight being in Texas where "control" & "holding teh center of teh cage" was actually a judging criteria for that fight. (Texas had not adopted teh Unified Roolz at teh time of their fight)
He beat Jones so he could beat Ulberg
Good point, if that fight had been under teh Unified Roolz. However Jones' strategy would've been different were their fight not in Texas... so we really haven't seen that fight under Unified Roolz. Jones has shown us masterful strategy in all his fights, & him taking teh easy way out in Texas roolz just showz us what happened in Texas. It doesn't indicate for me that Jones couldn't have won a different way under the Unified Roolz. At teh most... I'll give you... that it does offer doubt, but we can't decisively say a Jones strategy under Unified Roolz couldn't get the job done just because he took teh easy way out & likely demanded teh fight be in Texas.

I fought this tooth n nail "on teh Dog" right after teh fight, & re-watched it countless times even using slow motion & rewind, & reviewing teh criteria in extreme debths... to conclude that Jones legitimately won that fight.

However we feel about if all that would've shooken out under Unified Roolz... Jones won fair & square "in Texas" as teh official record sayz.
Agreed. He got robbed against Jon

No robbery me Sherbro... he controlled teh center of teh cage & rightfully won because of that.

Texas Roolz Sherbroz... Can you dig it?
