Tell you what boy. Send your kids over to Greensboro this Fall to Super32.. if they qualify this fall. If your “knowledge” and training is so “unique and superior” you should have at least several placers. Don’t “prove it” on local county kids. Show off nationally

Its a TERRIBLE notion to think that one day wrestling will no longer be in our american school systems!!!

At least among the parents I know there is a trend towards getting kids involved in lifetime sports like tennis, golf, running and rock climbing. I don’t know a lot about wrestling but I am not aware of any adult wrestling leagues in my area. Adult BJJ exists, but parents involved in that just start the kids in BJJ, not wrestling, at a young age.

why would you want to get your kids involved in a sport that has an 8-year shelf life and literally no future whatsoever outside of the American school system??

When I have a new wrestler with their first couple hours on the mat and they ask about the Olympics I have to look them in the eyes and say "in America we do a different kind of wrestling so all the rules will change when you get out of school"

they look at me like I'm nucking futs!

Then I explained to them that Americans practice International wrestling for a couple months during the off-season

Of course these programs are hard to find As Americans don't have any real exposure to International wrestling

The simple fact is. He is out of date and put of touch on crucial issues. He has also never coached outside one of the backwaters of wrestling in the US. He also isn’t the coach or “wrestler” he claims to be either.

His claim to coaching superiority is using things other people around him didn’t and “surprising them”. Not on results or anything concrete. I am willing to lay down money what his teams results in rematches was.


I’m all for discussing the challenges wrestling is facing. I’m more than willing to hear outside perspectives. That’s not what he wants. He wants validation for an ignorant opinion.

I'm not an American. I watched American technique on YouTube because it's the only wrestling technique on YouTube that's well explained. I also love how it's based more on being in shape and mentally tough rather than being super slick and selecting acrobatic kids from a young age. I don't watch WWF because it's super stupid and a bit homoerotic.
