American scolastic folkstyle wrestling = a dying sport

It had nothing to do with leadership corruption or grabbing of balls

all of your cockamamie theories are tinfoil hat time

it's a simple factor of WINNING

soccer is the most popular sport on the planet and doesn't draw crap in America because we can't win in it the same way we can't win in international wrestling

I don't know what soccers problem is because I don't play much soccer however I know a lot about what wrestling's problem is

we don't practice the right kind of wrestling

we made up our own style that's not used anywhere else in the world so we suck at the international variety

Blatnick ans kendall talked about it all the time on the old ESPN broadcasts as they struggle to explain why the top tier american athletes were getting beat yet again

That's actually a big problem for the sport as a whole

As Regional rivalrys get established in college sports programs they develop a mind of their own and become somewhat of an enclave community

Big trouble is those guys are doing a unique sport that exists nowhere else besides the american school system and when they meet up with International competition in international styles they don't Fair as well..... thus

McDonald's, Coke and Budweiser ARE NOT interested in buying advertising time with your broadcasts

Switching to freestyle would instantly produce better international results and propel the sport into olympic safety

Ladies wrestling (and Judo) are MASSIVE internationally but they REQUIRE government support in the public school system

Korea, Japan, France and the former Soviet Bloc all have massive public school system support for WRESTLING and JUDO and guess what??

Trouble is the big advertisers are now in complete Command and control over what used to be amateur sports devoid of the corporate advertising Mega Monster

Now that the big corporate advertisers are in control they're not dumb enough to invest in a sport where "Captain America" is likely to get beat by a soviet war machine on national television
