Who knows. His days at 155 were pretty much over as he missed weight for his last fight and looked like death on the scale

170 would have been a lot harder for him than 155. Bigger dudes with actual wrestling defensively and offensively.
 
Disagree, not even discussing his achievements but just his set of skills, the guy will struggle against anyone he can't takedown because his striking is average.

The skillset of prime Jones, DC, Gustafsson, Whittaker, GSP, Koscheck, Hendricks, Aldo, Volk, Dom Cruz, etc are all bad matchups for Khabib because you're not going to be able to outwrestle them.

And we've seen how Khabib looks in the one elite MMA wrestler he faced in 29 fights in Tibau.

I would agree if he dominated someone with great grappling or TDD like Oliveira and Volkanovski. As much as I like Khabib he was a bit lucky with his matchups and unfortunately he left us with some unanswered questions.
 
I feel he fell short on a couple of points,

His top opponents suited his fighting style Conor ,Justin and Dustin all strikers the ones that could give him a go in the wrestling he couldn't finish and they weren't top level.

Not moving up a weight division and fighting the champ and wining is a must if you want to be considered the goat, How he battled to make 155 shows that he should of been fighting at 170 anyway.

I also do believe loosing his father played a roll in his early retirement as fighting at 170 is something he wanted

Khabib is the LW GOAT and you can also consider him as the MMA GOAT ( Jon might be on top of the list )
it is not how many title defenses he had , it is about how he always dominated his opponents

I don't know about that but it's a fair/ possible point. Definitely could've factored on him sitting on his promise.
Khabib couldve....probably would've but didn't finish checking the boxes to be in goat conversation.
I find it disappointing to see khabib not continue in his prime , rack of a few more defenses and step up a rung and beat a relevant welter.

We can't imagine it would've happened.

I think when Islam does it, it will make it easier to imagine.
 
Legacy wise, he hasn't done enough to be considered the GOAT. I agree 100 percent that based on what I saw, he was the best fighter that we've ever seen in the UFC.
