Too bad we never got to see Fedor fight GSP. I wonder who would've won that one

No. I'm able to distinguish between the handicaps in place. As I've said weightlifting has weight classes. Who's the best weight lifter? A midget? A female? Or the strongest guy at the top?

I do not fully agree with Fedor being better (pound for pound) but this is definitely a thoughtful and quite reasonable post.

Definitely reasonable to consider Emelianenko the greatest fighter of all time though, just as it's in my opinion reasonable to say the same about St-Pierre, Demetrious Johnson or probably Jose Aldó.
(Their order aside, these are most likely the top four, with an additional argument for Cormier to be made.)

Usually, people who know better will explain why a statement is wrong, and provide evidence to back their counter arguments.

I have learned that when people say things like "you are wrong" "you are dumb" and etc without any explanation why, it is usually because they don't know any better. I experience it a lot arguing with religious people. LOL

How is it "ridiculous" to ask for references from that time period? You think it makes more sense to accept the claims of Fedor fans that "he was out of his prime" after getting submitted by Werdum than people saying it before that match.

Would you claim that Renan Barao was "out of his prime" in the time leading to the first TJ Dillashaw fight? Would claim that Jose Aldo was "out of his prime" leading to his 13 second destruction at the hands of Conor McGregor?

Anderson Silva was 37 years old leading into his first fight versus Chris Weidman, and most people thought Anderson Silva would win that fight. I didn't hear anybody making strong arguments that "Anderson Silva is out his prime and blah blah..."

The people who picked Chris Weidman to win were mostly giving "he is my friend" reasons, and not saying "because Silva is old and passed his prime." LOL

I am asking for articles, video clips and etc of people commenting that "Fedor is out of his prime, and Werdum will submit him." This is better evidence than hindsight revisionist history. That's all. It is a reasonable request. LOL

Wrestling, boxing, bjj, mma, Muay Thai......none of them default to the best hw. Again, just deal with it. You can believe wilder is greater than loma at boxing if you want.

Isn't Karelin the unanimous GOAT in wrestling?

Isn't the bjj GOAT Roger Gracie?

    2 massive men.

And also they are the p4p GOATs as well. Wilder is better than Loma in reality. Loma is clearly better p4p. But try not to confuse reality with the handicaps that boxing has to prevent guys like Ali, Tyson, Wilder from literally murdering guys like Mayweather, Loma etc

Karelin isn’t universally considered the best and for most who do consider him the best it’s because of his relative dominance. Not because he’s the biggest. And that’s just Greco. The goat free wrestlers are not hw.

But in many lists he’s simply the goat. SI, ESPN, ring magazine, etc.

GSP is increasing his lead over Fedor and Jones is closing in on him. Give it a few more months and Fedor will be delegated to 3rd place.

Jones is the GOAT, that's not even up for debate. Jones was fed to the wolves from the very beginning and is still undefeated almost a decade later.

Fedor on the other hand crushed a lot of cans. Got KO'ed by a old middleweight. Subbed easily by top 50 Bigfoot. Subbed effortlessly by Werdum.

GSP got KO'ed by a can. Lost to Hendricks. Got dropped by punches many times during his career. GSP was a boring wrestle fucker.

Fedor had to cheat to beat Matt Lindland so who knows how GSP would have fared

Jones is in 3rd place. I don’t think either of those fan bases have anything to be “butt hurt” about.
